Food quality was average, nothing special. Food prices; They will rip you off if you let them, see pictures of the receipt attached. I ordered their “coconut shrimp” listed on their menu for $18 and a “Mojito” $12 they charged me $52 there was no explanation for the charge or an actual bill to show what the charges were for, when I asked, they got offended. Let’s be realistic, how can you possible justify a $52 for a meal at the third world country, it does even cost this in New York City. Sadly, my overall experience at Roatan seem to me like they are just waiting for the tourist to rip them off, it’s sad, but this is the reason people comes one and never again. Service was Horrible; after I was seated, they forgot about me until I when the bar and ask for a waiter. These people have no basic customer service skills, they act as if customers are bothering them, unapologetic, no friendliness at all, and they know it, this is why they have to force service charge. Lasty, after I finished, I when to the cash registers to pay for my bill, I noticed they had the contactless payment available, I asked the cashier if she would use the contactless service instead of swiping my card for security reasons, she completely ignored me swiped the card in front of me, she was offended that I asked for contactless and tried to lecture me with a deceiving tone of voice. As I Walked out, she insulted me in Spanish (Mother fxxx) assuming that I would not understand. (she claimed to be the owner, manager) Probably the most horrible experience ever!! I don’t understand how trip advisor considers this place peoples favorite; they must be paying a lot of money to them. If you take a moment to review, there is a lot of people complaining about...
Read moreOur tour guide GG recommended this place and it was delicious. It was located on a private beach so it was very quaint. I actually met one of the hardest working servers ever as he bore the heat to make sure that everyone was served quickly and professionally. Since I’m a Louisiana gal I decided to try the shrimp and okra Poboy and I was very very pleased. The shrimp was fresh the slaw was fresh fries were amazing but they offered a variety of size I just chose fries to be safe but as delicious as the Poboy was I’m sure everything else was equally tasty. I also ordered a frozen beverage of course because it was hot and that margarita wasn’t nice!
I really only had one complaint this visit and that is the harassment from the women begging customers to give them massages while we were trying to relax on the beach. It was quite annoying to allow one woman to give a massage only to have several other women come and back to rub your feet or whatever. And although I understand that that’s a source of income for them, guests there are trying to relax and we couldn’t do that when people harass you every five minutes to perform some type of service. I might consider visiting only if management limits the people allowed to...
Read moreThe food is probably good but we came in because they had a sign that said fried lobster and waffles the day before. When we came in today the sign was different but we still politely inquired if they could make it. It was met with an attitude, “that’s Sundays only — we can’t just make lobster, we’re preparing for other meals”.
We sat down to look at the menu and then I checked my phone to see if the sign had said Sunday only — it did not. We politely brought this to her attention and received more attitude at that point we left. The fact of the matter is, had she just apologized and been polite, we would have just stayed and ordered something else. The view is absolutely incredible but we did not feel right spending money at a place with poor customer service.
Mind you we took a TREK to get there and the cook was willing to make it but the main...
