Our apartment was really well converted from what used to be horse stables many years ago. Kitchen was modern, shower was lovely and the whole feel was luxurious with lots of cushions on the bed (which was really comfortable).
It had the sort of “strange” laid back touches which didn’t spoil it for us but it might some people. For example, The HD Lg smart Tv was mounted to the wall at the end of the bed with impeccable internet and was connected to A satellite box with 100s of channels. Brilliant but .... The satellite box hung dangling from the tv (literally held up with the hdmi lead) . I seriously felt like going out and installing them a little shelf for it.
There is a front entrance shared by many apartments (not all owned by the company) that centre around a courtyard which in itself is lovely with a historic and moody atmosphere - but is poorly lit at night with one (literally one) cobble sticking up which I tripped on the first night. Again I was tempted to get a hammer and reset it for them.
Location wise it’s easy to get to from the underground, really close to a large supermarket only 50 yards away and close as well to a wide range of cheaper or very expensive eating options. We ate at a pizza joint just up the road for about £3 a pizza! We were able to visit the parliament building, castle area, basilica and even the groovy areas without needing transport so felt in the middle of things.
One thing I would say is that many of the photos of the apartments could be misleading. These are on the ground floor facing into the courtyard or at the back so there are no views and in our apartment we had four rooms but only one of them had a window to look out of. You had to look Up and outwards up 5 floors to get a glimpse of the sun on the roof way way above. It was a little like living in a luxury cave. But they made up for it by putting a lovely seating area outside one of the rooms which looked like it might be...
Read moreCentral location's great - but unfortunately, 'luxury' it is not. We had a ground-floor apartment for 4 which was really very dark compared to the photos, with a strong smell of damp throughout our stay. Assorted crockery and glasses for 3 (so we couldn't eat together as a family) with random cooking utensils, pots/pans, and dining chairs. Correspondence with agents was swift and courteous, check-in/departure info. good including being able to use cleaner's room for luggage after 10am check-out. All utilities worked fine, 2 shower rooms clean and beds comfortable. However literally just before our stay we were told some electrical maintenance work would be done while we were there, rather than after the previous guest's 10am check-out and our 7pm arrival or after our subsequent 10am check-out. We asked if it could be done during these times as there's no separate security for anything valuable but were told this wasn't possible. Maybe these are all just 'niggly' issues but considering the cost per night and accommodation title, losing the word 'luxury' would be much fairer and...
Read moreGood location, close to bakeries, coffee, restaurants and metro station. Basilica is also close by, as are walks on the Danube. Rooms were large and spacious however, felt a little dated and some items need fixing, for example a few curtain rings were missing and the curtains couldn’t draw all the way without eccentric placement of furniture to maintain room privacy. There is also no physical reception and your point of contact for any issues is Szilvia, the operations manager. She is mostly responsive thankfully. She did inform us on one of our days during our stay that there would be no hot water but was unable to tell us how long this would go on for. As an operator of a guest residence/hotel I found this to be very frustrating as hot water is an essential service especially during winter and it would be her responsibility to inquire with the authorities as to when hot water would be reestablished. There is also no daily housekeeping service and in all honesty this stay felt more like an Airbnb...
