Hands down, Ropana is a culinary experience you don’t want to miss in Ubud. Every dish I tried was absolutely exceptional—so much so that each one easily deserves a 5-star rating. Whether you’re a foodie, a brunch lover, or just someone who appreciates beautifully crafted meals, this place will blow you away.
What I Tried:
• Salmon Brioche – rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. • Tuna Tartare – fresh and zesty, with the perfect texture. • Tropical Chia Pudding – light, refreshing, and full of tropical flair. • Grilled Mahi Mahi – cooked to perfection, flaky and delicious. • Shrimp & Pork Gyoza – one of the best I’ve had, with an incredible recipe and the perfect kick from their house-made chili oil.
Not only was the food delicious, but the plating was next-level—a feast for the eyes as much as for the palate. The attention to detail in both presentation and flavor truly sets Ropana apart.
For paddle players, don’t miss the Paddle Coffee—espresso with fresh orange juice. It’s on the house and the perfect energizing combo before or after a game!
Ropana is also a great dinner spot. On weekends, they host live music, making it a lovely setting for cocktails, date nights, or relaxed meals with family and friends.
This is one of those places you find and immediately want to tell everyone about—Ropana is an absolute...
Read moreCute little place with friendly staff. Today was my second visit. I saw on the menu on a previous visit that they served bao buns. I went there today especially for that and was positively delighted to discover they run a wonderful special on Tuesdays for bao buns. Only 20k each!! I ordered 2 fish bao buns and they were amazing! I ordered a carrot, apple, orange, ginger juice as well - also delicious. This was better than my first visit: I had an iced mocha, which isn’t served sweet. I asked for sugar, but it’s so hard to mix sugar into an iced drink. I should have learned by now to ask before ordering if it’s sweet or not, anywhere in Asia. If it’s not, I just need to order a hot one instead. I had the pumpkin dish for my breakfast on my first visit. The puréed pumpkin was fabulous, but the roasted pumpkin wedge served on top of it was not cooked enough, so it was kinda hard. I didn’t eat it, but was still full. The poached eggs were plain, so I asked for a sauce. Idk what the sauce was called - but they said it was the only sauce they had. It was oily and spicy and just what I needed. I’ll definitely go back again, especially on Tuesdays for the special on...
Read moreWe were so disappointed by this place. It's small and nice decor, but the service and food was severely lacking. We ordered the baked pumpkin and the Turkish eggs. The pumpkin was undercooked in the middle, totally hard and inedible. The dish was pretty boring and entirely uninspiring. I asked for pork belly as an extra, which was available as an extra on another dish, but was told quite bluntly, "No". The Turkish eggs are served in a cold yoghurt, with not really any additional flavour or flair for presentation (a 10yr old could present the food better). The version of this dish at Pison is a million times better. These were incredibly disappointing dishes all around. We asked for some frothed /steamed milk (aka babycino) as well as our other coffees, but they didn't have enough milk! Bad luck if you showed up after us and wanted milk in your coffee. We were the only customers there for breakfast, so I'm guessing they weren't expecting more people to order coffee. Definitely couldn't recommend this based on...
