We stopped in late (9PM) for some food and drinks. Tara was our server and was such a joy. We were between a few different pizzas on the menu, not only did she help us narrow things down with excellent descriptions of each but she even set us up with a half-and-half pizza so we could try two kinds. My wife had a local gin (picked out with the help of Tara) and tonic. We were both beyond pleased. Excellent craft beer options, I had several and was very happy with the selection - Paleâs, Redâs, IPAâs, and Stouts. It was very easy to drink and be merry with the addition of a good classic pub atmosphere. As we were leaving we asked about the best spot to pick up a local Wool blanket and she pointed us to a few shops in town but later explained her grandmother is from the area and always seeks out Foxford Woolen Mills which is further north. Our trip was taking us that way anyhow, long story made short, we ended up picking up multiple items from there and was very thankful for the...
Read moreGood food, nice staff, and good sports bar. This place can be often busy. We happened to catch a bite on a quiet mid week lunch period. I ordered the steak sandwich, bursting with steak and mushrooms, and cooked to perfection. Served on a soft baguette with just the right amount of garlic. Even the chips were cooked perfectly, crispy without any saturated oil soaked sheets. The peppercorn sauce was really an excellent dipping sauce with the chips. A bit on the spicy side, for me, and would have preferred a Jameson whiskey sauce instead. But cannot fault any part of the dish. I will be back, because I wanted to try the burger. There is a bit of a wait for it ... But told it is worth it. The menu is small ... But this isn't necessary a bad thing. They have a small kitchen, and when busy I imagine the floor space can be cramped too. But by keeping the menu small it means they can serve consistent good food. They have picked some real crowd pleasers and...
Read moreGood food but had the displeasure of dealing with an extremely rude and unprofessional member of staff. Only ordered 2 pizzas on the phone to take away but this man made a big issue of removing some toppings we didn't want, saying the chef would lose his mind. Sorry but that isn't our fault and if your pizzas are freshly made then surely leaving out toppings isn't an issue. After collecting the order from the same man, (without thanks) we found that dips had been left out from our order, and we were overcharged by around âŹ8 (no receipt given but compared to prices on website). We decided not to go back to dispute since we already had a terrible experience with this man. Anyway, I used to enjoy going here for food and drinks but I won't be any more. There are plenty of alternative options in Galway with staff and owners that...
