Gave this place a higher rating that I would normally which would be a 3 since I really do want more asian restaurants to thrive in Ireland. Definitely shouldn't have a 4.8

I'm Chinese American and live in an area with lots of Thai food for reference. A consistent theme was that everyone's food was very spicy almost like it was over flavored. I got drunken noodles since I was looking for a comfort food, didn't resemble drunken noodles at all. Most the food sort of resembled what it was on the menu but wasn't. Pineapple in my brother's meal was also missing. Wasn't atrocious but was just okay.

My guess is their trying to cater to a more white audience as they seem to have a different approach to each dish and have the option between rice and chips (which were fries for americans) for certain dishes. Almost all the patrons got some sort of plain fried shrimp or chicken with what I assumed was sweet and sour sauce and practically everyone got fries instead of rice which was interesting to say the least. They also didn't offer any Asian drinks other than Jasmine tea (Thai tea would have been nice). Their deserts resembled that of pubs which I guess makes since as people may be hesitant to order but having as least one on there to expose people would be good.

Just the fact their one of the highest rated Asian restaurants in the city was I was disappointed to not enjoy it. Though it was nice to see some local Asian people other than tourists.

If you are Irish and haven't tried Asian food I'd still go as they do have the flavor profile of Asian cuisine. I really wish asian food was more popular in Ireland so theyd be more inclined to include more ethnic items on their menu, so go support Asian...

I wish I could give this place a million stars! As a well traveled couple, my husband and I can both honestly say this is our favorite restaurant in the WORLD. First off, the service is unmatched. Instantly refilled drinks, positive happy enthusiastic attitudes, food comes out fast, and portions are huge! Not to mention, we watched two girls (Syuan & Rebecca) absolute crush the restaurant flow. From seating, drink orders, drink making, food orders, food running, table cleaning and check out. Mind blowing! Now on to the food. For starters we had the skewered chicken with peanut sauce and the Vietnamese spring rolls with homemade peanut sauce. Both were insanely good. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the peanut sauce was to die for. Then we had the crispy duck salad. Also to die for… €8.50 for the best duck salad ever. On to the mains, we ordered the chicken pad Thai and the papas supreme with prawn and rice… you guessed it, to die for. Both were so incredibly tasty and cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding w ice cream…. 10/10. So freakin good. And shoutout to the people back in the kitchen whippin up this tasty food! Please, do yourself a favor and EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! You won’t be disappointed.

PS. I usually take pics of food so idk what happened this time around :(

PSS. We came back the next night and got the same foods! I took a picture of the starters & dessert - but again forgot to snap a photo...

SUPER -PERFECT -FANTASTIC!! What can I say that the title does not say? OK, here we go: SERVICE: EXCELLENT! Becky and of course her co are both warm, welcoming and funny women who make your stay worthwhile and give you the impression of being with friends! FOOD: SUPERBE ASIAN FOOD! I‘ve been to Asia a couple of times and definitely enjoyed the Thai chashew nut-dish at least as much as in Thailand!! (I threatened to kidnap the cook! :-)) OK, the Irish tradition of eating french fries / chips with almost anything, so also with Asian food was a little strange for us but it‘s not a must, you can also choose rice or half and half. :-)) Papa Rich offers a wide range of Asian food and everything I was able to see looked delicious and I saw NOBODY who was not contend. It is a small place and at the weekend we advise to book a table beforehand as it‘s a well-visited restaurant - again proof of the high quality of the food. LOCATION: COULDN‘T BE BETTER! After dinner you can simply „fall into“ the music pub Barr an Chaladh situated underneath and where the friendliness of service goes on. THANK YOU BECKY!!!! PROMISE TO SEND AT LEAST ONE POSTCARD...

As a fellow Malaysian who's been in Galway for yesrs now, this is definitely my go-to restaurant for malaysian food. Arguably, the best malaysian restaurant in Ireland I'd say. To start off, the food here are delicious. The ones we usually go for would be roti banjir, mamak goreng (mee goreng), nasi lemak, satay kajang, and all of these are exceptionally good. I'd personally recommend nasi lemak and roti banjir if you're going here. And they're all reasonably priced as well. The staff over there are friendly and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask which food are suitable and they'll help guide you through according to your preferences. In terms of service, the time from order to food served on the table was very quick. The restaurant itself was clean, and toilets are available and were all clean as well. And yes this restaurant definitely gets crowded so reservation is definitely advisable to avoid despair. Overall, food is good, staff is friendly, 100% recommend to come here.

Mama Rich is without a doubt the best place to eat in Galway. The friendly staff, sensational food and the restaurant itself is unparalleled in terms of quality and service. I had the Char Kway Teow with Chicken and the depth of flavour is unmatched. They also can tailor any spice level to any dish and extra spicy = extra spicy. Would highly recommend the chips/fries also as were a great addition to the meal. As it stands this is the only restaurant in Galway I would recommend every single time due being consistently excellent quality (even for takeout). Apart from the food they also have an extensive selection of wine on tap and similarly have their own Mama Rich lager - both the Tempranillo wine and the lager were 10/10. This place is a must stop for lunch/dinner in Galway.
