I went to this restaurant with my wife and unfortunately I had the worst service of my whole life. We were seated and quickly made our order (which was tap water, 1 bottle of wine, 2 starters and 2 mains). Meanwhile, an American family was seated just 3 minutes after us. After 15 minutes none of the things we'd ordered had arrived (not even the tap water). We had to ask for the water to one of the waitress (and she finally brought it to us). However, the American family was just getting their pizzas (good for them). All the time the staff was passing by but none of them bordered making eye contact and check on us. There was no manager there whatsoever. We were completely ignored all along. After 35 minutes waiting to be served at least a starter, and noticing the chefs over the kitchen counter having a pleasant chat, the place not full, and an order being handed to a person that had ordered after us we simply decided to leave the place. It was really frustrating. A reply note to the owner, who incorrectly states me and my wife didn't actually go there. YOU ARE WRONG! I know exactly where my wife and I went last night (on 2.5.2025). Check your footages again. We got up and left when it was around 21:20 o' clock and no one tried to stop us. I didn't want to say initially, but I can even be more specific: the woman who seated us was of Asian ethnicity (it was around 20:40) and the waitress who took our order was a slim, short and ginger girl with a fringe kind of hair style. Also, we were seated just by the press where the cutlery is kept. We only went to another Italian restaurant after being ignored at yours (which wasn't that busy and most of its costumers had already eaten, and your chefs were just having a laugh and chatting). By the way, in this other restaurant the water and wine arrived just straight away, as anyone would expect. Have...
Read moreI recently dined at the Osteria da Simone, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows.
Let's start with the positives. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming, resembling a cozy osteria that almost felt like home. The warm atmosphere definitely added to the dining experience.
The staff, particularly Ellie Rose (I hope I got your name right) stood out for their exceptional service. Ellie Rose was not only brilliant at her job but also exuded professionalism and warmth throughout our interaction. Her dedication to her work was evident and greatly appreciated.
However, despite the pleasant ambiance and delicious pasta, my overall experience was marred by an incident involving an Italian staff member (guy with the mustache)
He began yelling at Ellie Rose in front of all the customers, embarrassing her and treating her terribly. It was deeply unsettling to witness such behavior in a supposedly reputable establishment.
I took the opportunity to reassure Ellie Rose that her professionalism and grace in handling the situation were commendable. No one deserves to be treated disrespectfully, especially by a colleague. Ellie Rose, if you happen to read this, please know that your talents and professionalism deserve better.
In conclusion, while the place offers a nice atmosphere and tasty pasta, the unpleasant incident with the Italian staff member overshadowed the positives of the dining experience. Management should address such behavior promptly to ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for both staff and customers alike.
Note that I'm Italian as well, and we are not...
Read moreWhen we arrived we were greeted immediately and sat as soon as a table was available. Our order was taken quickly, the food came out quickly, and everything was amazing. We really wanted dessert, but we sat for 30 minutes after we were done before anyone came to check on us. At that point we didn't have time to order dessert as we had an hour and a half drive. This was on Sunday, July 7th around 20:00. The crowd had already cleared.
We were asked if we wanted a dessert menu and we politely said no and asked for the bill. 15 minutes later the waitress came back with a dessert menu and we again declined and asked for the bill again. She never came back. After an additional 15 minutes, another waitress who was very nice came by and checked on us and we asked her for the bill which she brought us immediately.
I really wanted to give 5 stars but the lack of service after we received our meal was just awful. It would be more understanding if they still had a lot of patrons but most everyone had been taken care of and left. During our time there, we had 3 different waitresses. The original waitress ignored us the rest of the night.
