One late evening, while on our way to grab a kebab, my family and I stumbled upon Barr and Chaladh. The owner, Michael, warmly greeted us. We fully expected typical Irish pub fare, but were delightfully surprised when Michael offered an Asian-inspired lunch menu – perfect, as I was craving prawns!

The prices were incredibly reasonable, and the portions were enormous. But the best part? The food was delicious! The atmosphere was lively, thanks to the live music, and Michael's hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome. We enjoyed it so much, we returned a few weeks later! Everything about Bar An Chaladh is Top Notch, the owner makes you feel very welcome and at home as do all the staff members, he even gave us our Xmas drinks early😂😂, they don't rip you off with their prices. A group of various musicians 🎸🪕🎻🪘🥁🪗🪈 started off a trad session and they were outstanding as were all the dancers💃🕺 and the craic was mighty. The clean witty signage all over the pub is hilarious. You can always judge a quality pub by the amount of locals that frequent it, and they were there in abundance, you could tell as they were on first name terms with the staff. Seemed like a nice spot but one member of staff who was possibly the owner was very rude and pushy with customers. Before entering he stood at the entrance stopping people passing the pub telling them to come in. Then when we sat down after 1 drink he sat a family of 4 with young kids next to us at the same table when there was no space. They were lovely but also embarrassed at being shoved into a tiny spot alongside us. Honestly a nice looking pub with great music and the rest of the staff were lovely.
