Franky's On The Lake — Local services in Como

This was the highlight of our entire visit to Lake Como! If you are considering booking it, do it!

Joey, the owner, was extremely communicative and helpful starting from the time of booking - he helped to provide restaurant recommendations and got us booked for an incredible meal after our boat tour. On the day of our boat tour, there was rain in the forecast in the morning, and he adjusted our start time with no issues to avoid the rain. He was always so helpful and understanding!

We were picked up in Varenna - while there, we saw many other boat tours picking up passengers, and were so thankful we chose Frankys. The boat was beautiful and clean, the tour was private, and we were supporting a small, local business.

The weather ended up being perfect. The boat was beautiful and we had such a fun time learning all about the landmarks on the lake and seeing villas and towns that were "hidden gems" that we would have otherwise missed. Even after the trip, Joey gave us recommendations for things to do in Florence, where we were headed next.

Franky's on the Lake - A Perfect Day

When we were planning our trip to Lake Como we knew we wanted to include a tour on the lake itself but one that could be flexible with what we wanted to see and do. I looked at a number of tour groups which were fine and then I found Franky's On The Lake. What a find! The reviews themselves were nothing but positive and you know when you've found exactly what you are looking for - magic! All my communications were answered quickly and what we wanted to do - four hours, just the two of us and our guide was easily organised. We were excited to get aboard and our Captain "Joey" was as good as they get. He knew his history, the architecture, the restaurants, hotels and the Villas. The Marshall music speaker played smooth jazz in the background whilst we traversed the lake. Our boat was beautiful, comfortable and perfect for our trip. Our 4-hour boat tour with Joey from Franky’s on the Lake was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our Lake Como trip. From the moment he picked us up at the public dock near our hotel, everything was smooth. Joey was super communicative leading up to the tour, and he completely tailored the experience to our group.

He shared fun and interesting facts about the villas and towns we passed, brought plenty of floats for us to relax in the water, played great music, and kept the prosecco flowing. The vibes were immaculate — beautiful boat, stunning views, and just the right mix of fun and chill.
