During our trip to Florence in September 2024, we had the privilege of dining at Museo della Bistecca - Bisteccheria Piazza della Signoria, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Located in the heart of the city, just steps from the iconic Piazza della Signoria, this restaurant offers an extraordinary dining experience that combines world-class cuisine with the charm of Florence.
I opted for the Wagyu steak dinner, and it was an absolute masterpiece. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich, buttery flavor that was simply divine. Every bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and their mastery of preparing premium cuts of meat.
My wife chose a fresh and beautifully presented salad accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes. The salad was a perfect medley of crisp, vibrant greens and flavorful toppings, while the mashed potatoes were smooth, rich, and comforting. Together, they created a delightful balance of flavors that complemented the meal perfectly.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, blending rustic Tuscan charm with a modern elegance. Whether you're seated indoors or enjoying the views from their outdoor seating, you’re surrounded by the vibrant energy of Florence.
The service was exceptional as well. The staff was attentive, friendly, and passionate about the menu, ensuring that every detail of our meal was flawless. Their knowledge and recommendations made us feel truly cared for and enhanced our overall experience.
Museo della Bistecca - Bisteccheria Piazza della Signoria is more than just a place to eat—it’s a celebration of Florence’s culinary heritage. Whether you’re a steak connoisseur or simply looking for a fantastic meal in a stunning setting, this restaurant is a must-visit. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip, and we would return in...
Read moreOur recent visit to Museo della Bistecca was, unfortunately, a significant disappointment. Despite the promising setting and location in Florence, the experience fell far short of the high standards one would expect, especially given the extortionate prices. The most glaring issue was the food itself. The steak, the centerpiece of the meal, arrived completely unseasoned. This is a culinary misstep of the highest order. A great steak relies on more than just quality meat; it requires a chef's touch with salt, pepper, and perhaps a bit of olive oil to bring out its full flavor. What we received was a bland piece of beef that left a lot to be desired. The problems didn't stop there. The accompanying vegetables, which should have been a vibrant and fresh complement to the meal, were not only unseasoned but also arrived at the table well after the steak. This kind of disjointed service is simply unacceptable. The high prices on the menu led me to believe we would receive a polished dining experience, but what we got was far from it. Frankly, for the price we paid, we expected a level of quality and authenticity that was completely absent. The food was far from authentic Italian cuisine, and the lack of care in its preparation and presentation was shocking. This establishment seems to be capitalizing on its location rather than on the quality of its product. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The unseasoned, bland food and disorganized service, combined with the exorbitant cost, made for a truly unsatisfying and inauthentic dining experience. Save your money and look elsewhere for a truly...
Read moreWe came for a birthday dinner while returning to Florence, where we had lived for a while. We picked this restaurant mainly because of the range of steaks and the reviews, as we'd had Florentine steak many times, so thought it looked like a good new place with a bit of variety. Firstly, the food was overall excellent. Steaks very well cooked, salads well made, good Tiramusu for dessert. The cooks here are excellent. The failure here was just the service, which was slow and disinterested. When placing the order the waiter made no attempt to explain the different varieties of steak, just suggesting offhand when we mentioned traditional Chianina that they had lots of varieties, then pointing to the most expensive variety. Then most of the food came quickly. Including an excellent Ossobuco, but not the Florentine. Which came a full 45 minutes later. No updates, no apologies or explanation for the delay, no communication at all. When the Florentine finally arrived, again no apologies for the delay. The steak was well-cooked, but at this point everyone else had finished long ago. Then when we asked for the bill, that also took 15 minutes, again with no communication or apologies. And to be clear, the restaurant wasn't that busy, and was largely empty when we arrived. The waiter wasn't rude, he just wasn't interested. It was a pity, as the food is of genuinely high quality, but the service more typical of a tourist-focused place only interested in payment. Largely ruined a meal we had really been...
