expensive ice cream I've had in Italy mediocre 'gelato' 'tourist trap' gimmick ice cream shaped into a flower wasn't the worst but wasn't the best
If you want the best tasting gelato (and best price/value) then this is NOT the place. #honest
To top it off, the service was terrible. We were waiting in line as you are expected, behind people that were waiting in front of you. Waiting a good ten minutes in line as you would. The servers completely miss us, serving the people in front and then assisting them with ice cream. A new attendant comes to serve at least 2 groups before us, who were behind us, and we told her that we were waiting in line and don't have a purchased ticket, she then tells us to "get behind everyone else." If she came to serve the next people in line, she should ask who has been served or not. I told her that we were waiting but was not served, she still served other people before we got attention by this young lady. I couldn't believe what we were experiencing. We continued to give benefit of the doubt, based on the reviews here on Google about this gelato place, so we still tried their ice cream. As soon as we tried it my partner and I both agreed it was a GIMMICK. In addition we ordered coffee which was left on the side with rubbish on top of the same tray. We told them to make a new coffee and was given the worst attitude from the servers. Was not a happy customer.

Read moreAmorino in Florence is definitely a popular spot, and for good reason-the gelato is really tasty. The flavors are rich, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The gelato is super creamy, and the way they serve it, in that flower shape, is fun and Instagram-worthy. If you’re into fruity flavors, their sorbets, like mango and raspberry, are bright and refreshing. The chocolate ones are decadent and smooth too.
That said, the price is a bit of a sticker shock. For a small cup, it feels pretty overpriced, especially when you consider that there are so many other gelato places in Florence that give you bigger portions for less. It’s a cool experience, but I’d say it’s more about the novelty and presentation than getting the best bang for your buck.
The seating space is cosy and classy. Nice environment in the store and very friendly staff with contemporary and traditional vibes.
If you’re just after a great gelato without worrying too much about the cost, Amorino’s a solid choice. But if you’re watching your budget, you might want to explore other...
Read moreGelato is good. We paid the surplus for a cone and asked if they could put my wife’s gelato in a cup with the cone on top and they tried to downsize us in total scoops until I stepped in. Then they almost gave me two sizes lower than I paid for and I had to grab the receipt and walk it through with them. I speak Italian fluently so this was not an issue of having a language barrier. After all that, we got our gelato and realized they never put the whipped cream on top that we also paid additional fees for. I have a high tolerance for simple mistakes, but this was a simple mistake made complicated by the employees trying to argue with me rather than just reading the receipt. The gelato was good, but not worth 10 minutes of back and forth debate over them trying to fleece me out of the 4 euro I had paid for the additional cones and...
