This review is solely on the sandwiches and boy were they great! The wife and I grabbed a quick bit and selected the Lampredotto and Pollo Caldi. The lampredotto was hot and fresh. Full of flavor and meat! As for the wife’s pollo sandwich, the chicken was great, but more so the veggies that were on the sandwich were FRESH! This made it even better. Something that we also noted about Di Caterini Giorgio was that everyone was welcoming and great about answering questions. Furthermore, as we were sitting enjoying our meals, you could tell the locals enjoyed this place too as they were both in and out for sandwiches and produce.

Ottima macelleria storica in zona centrale a Firenze, dove fermarsi per comperare della carne o fare una pausa per un ottimo panino preparato al momento con un lampredotto spettacolare e di alta qualità, i titolari sono molto gentili. Panini riempiti a piacere con affettati di qualità e produzione locale o con il classico lampredotto o trippa. Prezzi molto buoni. Provare ed assaggiare per credere.

This shop is one of very few still standing historical butcher shops in the center of Florence. Founded in the 50s, about 4 years ago it was taken over by Marco, a former chef. Now, in addition to selling fresh meat, Macelleria Caterini Giorgio also offers quick and affordable panini over lunchtime. I enjoyed the sliced tongue sandwich with salad, salsa verde and spicy sauce ("piccante"). Make sure you check out their daily specials for fun...

Come si dice a Firenze..."la ciccia un sò com'è, ma i lampredotto gliè da dieci!!!" Su via della Spada, nel cuore di Firenze, si apre una nuova finestrella, dalla quale escono delle vere leccornie!!! Personalmente mi sono mangiato....nooo sbagliato!!!...piu corretto DIVORATO un panino con il lampredotto!!! SPECIALEEEEE!!! Saporito, morbido....una vera prelibatezza!!! Sarà che la carne arriva direttamente dalla macelleria (cm 0!!!), sarà l'esperienza di "mastri bottegai fiorentini docg", ma da quella finestrella in via della Spada "sortono" (dial.fiorentino = escono) dei panini speciali!!!! A occhio la carne e i salumi nel banco macelleria non sono da meno!!!
