MEA Libera Tutti — Local services in Venice

I was so excited to come here when I was in Venice. Everything is gluten free, obviously, and the owner very clearly cares about what products he carries. He even gave us a list of gluten free restaurants he recommends based on his own experiences. Compared to other major cities in Italy, there were not a lot of good gluten free options in Venice that I found, so having this was great. I read some negative reviews saying that the place is not a supermarket as it's small. I think it's obvious that it would be small because it's only things that would otherwise contain gluten in a regular supermarket. As a coeliac travelling, it can be sometimes very daunting to look for fully gluten-free items. However, this store was absolutely amazing and helped put my stresses at ease! We bought so many delicious gluten-free goods (different pastas, pizza, baked goods and snacks) AND had such a lovely chat with the friendly owner who gave us some awesome coeliac-friendly restaurant recommendations. I recently visited MEA Libera Tutti in Venice with my daughter, who has celiac disease. The owner was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us. He even gave my daughter a gluten-free pastry to try. It was heartwarming to learn that the owner opened the store 15 years ago when his son was diagnosed with celiac disease.
