We had a beautiful sunset tour of Cinque Terre, the Italian Riviera, with the Nord Est Vernazza Boat Tour company. Our engaging guide was Laura, and her father was the pilot. Laura shares her amazing historical knowledge of the five cities that began in the 11th or 12th century.

We leisurely moved from town to town, each vista was more lovely than the next, while boats from other companies passed us by in a seeming hurry to finish. During our cruise, we were served some delicious wine, salamies, cheeses, and focaccia. Near the last village we had the opportunity to swim in a lovely spot. The water was beautifully clear and refreshing. Towels, snorkels, and masks were provided.

Great boat ride to see all of Cinque Terre. Easy payment process (online via the website or cash on the day) which I booked only 3 hours prior to departure. Boat seats up to 10 people but there was only 6 of us and it felt very private. Cesare our skipper was fantastic telling us about the interesting sights and history of Cinque Terre in English and Italian. He stopped at each town and orientated the boat so we can all take fabulous photos (sadly clouds covered our sunset but that's out of their control). Also there was some time for people to swim but I happily stayed on board to feed the fish (water was so clear you see them). We booked a private boat rental with Nord Est Vernazza, and it was truly one of the highlights of our Cinque Terre trip. Our captain was incredible—knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great insights about the towns, local weather patterns, seasonal changes, and hidden gems along the coast.

The experience felt both relaxing and enriching. We loved being able to jump into the crystal-clear water to cool off and just float while taking in the views of the colorful villages and occasional waterfalls in the distance. The boat was comfortable, the pace was perfect, and the whole experience felt special and unhurried.
