Genuinely one of the worst customer service encounters I have had in my life. The man who served me was incredibly hostile and rude, I asked for a small cup (ā¬3.50) was given a flat portion of ice cream despite seeing others being served next to me who were given much larger ones, what youād usually expect as Iāve ordered gelato many times before. This didnāt bother me too much, so I paid without questioning it, but on asking for a second spoon so I could share the gelato with my friend the man rolled his eyes and said confrontationally āone gelato, one spoon!!!!ā.
Others around me also looked shocked by his rudeness - I said āso youāre saying I canāt have abother spoon for my ice cream?ā he turned around, grabbed a scoop, waved it in my face and said aggressively āPAY ā¬1 MORE IF YOU WANT ANOTHER SPOON THEN. GOODBYEā.
Honestly appalled, never been spoken to before so rudely. AVOID this place, avoid this man, itās a shame as the gelato was delicious but Iād suggest having words with him about how he speaks to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. The gelato is fine, but that's beside the point. It is run by horrible human beings who have no interest other than squeezing as much money out of you without any semblance of kindness or courtesy. I asked for a tasting, and was told no. I understand that in Vernazza there can be many tourists and so they want to keep the line moving by not handing out free tastings. But I then ordered a small cup and asked for two flavors, but was told no. Two weeks in Italy eating gelato everyday, I have never been told I could not get two flavors in a small cup. But fine, I ordered a medium cup and ordered the two flavors I wanted to try. I then asked for an extra spoon so my girlfriend and I could share. And the owner said, "No, one gelato one spoon." Such a despicable, hateful attitude towards visitors who just want to enjoy a gelato. Take your business somewhere else. No gelato is worth supporting this kind of attitude...

I came in saw the sign that "Cash is appreciated" but then I saw other people can still pay with card. So when it is my turn, I asked the female worker if I can pay with card, she gave me look and said "You dont have card?" and I said "No sorry, I will go if can't be paid". She said "Can't you read cash is appreciated?". I was so annoyed already, appreciated doesn't mean it is a must right? She still give me a small granita cup but with the price of 3.5 euro? Hmmm, I think there might be an extra charge that wasn't said before for card payments right? HAHA
If you want to cash only then say cash only, we won't bother to go in anyway, or maybe like many other comments, I'm Asian as well?
Anyway Cinque Terre is beautiful and there are other places to eat, don't ruin our experience by going to this...
