If you’re an American, please don’t come here. Unfortunately, the food was good enough but the service was god awful. We ordered a spaghetti con frutti di mare and lasagna. The waitress (Esterna) repeated the order back to us and then proceeded to bring us lasagna and ravioli with fish. She immediately walked away after delivering the items. We took a piece of ravioli to see if it had the frutti di mare (calamari, mussel, shrimp, etc) aspect instead of swapping the dish. Unfortunately, it was only fish so we grabbed her attention to swap it for the dish we ordered instead. She came back after 10 minutes and told us that because we had a bite, it could not be swapped for the dish we asked for. Honestly, as a previous waitress myself, I do not respect customers that eat the entire dish and expect a refund…how odd. However, after inputting the dish wrong into the system, I’ve never argued with a customer about replacing it with the correct one. We made sure to leave the entirety of the dish for them to take back after the initial bite. If you’re visiting, I’d recommend enjoying a wine here. If you plan on dining in, please brace yourself and repeat your order with them for confirmation!! On top of this experience, the other waiter assigned to the table had stared at my friend’s armpits and stated “it looks like you haven’t shaved today” unfortunately, she had just this morning. It was obscenely rude to make comments about a woman’s body and I’ve honestly never experienced something like this. Simply bizarre and very unfortunate, the food is honestly good but the experience is never worth repeating. Please spare yourselves!!! There are many places nearby worth...
Read moreThe worst dining experience. Don’t waste your time. The ambience is tacky, the menu is short and lacking, the food and drink are terrible, and the service is sleepy. We ordered a Negroni and aperol spritz, both came with the butt of the lemon — just the icky, dirty rind! Unbelievable. My husband ordered the trofie with pesto, which was decent. I ordered the lasagna bolognese, which was clearly a reheated slice of an old lasagna. Sure it tasted fine, but for 20 euros? Absolutely not. Small portions too. We got a stale side of white plain bread with no oil or butter, which they reserve to each guest using whatever is leftover from previous tables. We were thoroughly displeased with the quality, taste, and size of the drinks and food at this point, so we ordered the fried fish entree. Gross! It was a small plate of fried bits, and a few fried shrimp that weren’t even cooked through (and the shell was still on, so extra work to try to get any meat). Stay away from this place, it’s a tourist trap. We should have read the reviews before we stopped in! They’re all horrid with similar experiences. A total waste...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews we ate here anyway, definitely some positives and areas for improvement, but I feel some of the reviews are just individuals not being used to how Italians communicate and operate.
The view was amazing and the tables looked lovely and prepared. The spaghetti was great, with delicious sauce, ample seasoning, and simple plating. Drinks were also good, I mean hard to mess up an aperol spritz.
The service was classic Italian. No one really greets you, they still ask what meal you’re there for, and never ask if you need desert or the bill when you’re clearly done eating. The bread came in a brown paper bag and was stale. One of the things expected by travellers to Italy is fresh bread and it should be served immediately upon seating, not with an entrée. There’s always room for improvement with service, but Italy is all the same. If you want to stand out, greet your guests, seat them, serve them quickly, then ask if they’d like desert when they’re done eating.
Overall I wouldn’t discredit this place. Room for improvement, but still...
