Highly recommend this place! As a foreigner I was nervous to purchase a kimono and wanted to do it right. I walked in and out of the store until I worked up the courage to ask for proper help from the staff with my Google translate and they were very enthusiastic and agreed! They helped me choose every single piece of the kimono from the kimono itself down to the color of the obi. The staff was extremely nice, helpful, and fun! It really felt like the staff were eager to help and truly wanted me to walk away with the best experience. I had 3 different people join and help all while smiling and giving their honest opinions. I was so happy with the experience I even came back with a friend and met even more of their staff, also just as eager and ready to help. This store became one of my best memories in Japan and I’d gladly go back when visiting Kyoto! (10/10 highly recommend!!!)

The absolute best staff in a store full of beautiful pieces. The store is stocked with kimonos for men women and kids. There is a great selection of kokeshi dolls and other Japanese artefacts. I think I spent my entire budget just on kimonos and Haoris. And I couldn’t thank the team enough. Masahiro San went out of his way to help me find the right kimono for a relative, even going as far as calling his wife from another location to get options. And Ayumi San and Kaede San were great in helping me choose items too. I cannot recommend this store enough. There are a number of vintage stores in the area, but this family run business really goes above and beyond. Whenever I come back, I’m definitely stopping by again.

Review for Antiques Kimono Lily Kyoto:

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Antiques Kimono Lily Kyoto, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the stunning collection of beautiful, authentic kimonos. Each piece felt like a work of art, with intricate designs and rich history woven into every thread. The variety was impressive, ranging from traditional to more unique, vintage styles, making it easy to find something that resonated with me.

What truly made the experience unforgettable was the lovely service. The staff were incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. They took the time to explain the history behind the kimonos and helped me find the perfect one that suited my taste and size. Their passion for these garments was evident, and it made the whole process feel personal and special.

If you're in Kyoto and looking for a memorable experience, Antiques Kimono Lily Kyoto is a must-visit. Whether you're a collector, a fashion enthusiast, or simply curious about Japanese culture, this place will leave you in awe. I left with not only a gorgeous kimono but also a deeper appreciation for the artistry and tradition behind them. Highly,...

Highly recommend visiting this place! During my Japan trip I had visited countless other kimono stores looking for a men's kimono that had vibrant colors. I learned unfortunately that due to traditional cultural norms, men's kimonos only come in austere, dark tones. However, Saki and Yuka helped me pick out a silver women's kimono that with a bit of tailoring back in the states came out exactly what I was looking for. They also were gracious enough to reserve the kimono for 2 nights as I was debating whether this plan was possible. I must have gone in and out of the store 5 times, straddling the fence of whether or not to make a purchase. Couldn't be more grateful for the hours these two amazing women spent helping out a tourist, they were absolutely wonderful. Also, thank you so much for the small gift, goes perfectly with the sash buckle. For other visitors, please say hello to Saki and...
