I recently had the pleasure of visiting Antiques Kimono Lily Kyoto, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the stunning collection of beautiful, authentic kimonos. Each piece felt like a work of art, with intricate designs and rich history woven into every thread. Read moreHighly recommend visiting this place! During my Japan trip I had visited countless other kimono stores looking for a men's kimono that had vibrant colors. I learned unfortunately that due to traditional cultural norms, men's kimonos only come in austere, dark tones. However, Saki and Yuka helped me pick out a silver women's kimono that with a bit of tailoring back in the states came out exactly what I was looking for. They also were gracious enough to reserve the kimono for 2 nights as I was debating whether this plan was possible. I must have gone in and out of the store 5 times, straddling the fence of whether or not to make a purchase. Couldn't be more grateful for the hours these two amazing women spent helping out a tourist, they were absolutely wonderful. Also, thank you so much for the small gift, goes perfectly with the sash buckle. For other visitors, please say hello to Saki and...
Read moreHighly recommend this place! As a foreigner I was nervous to purchase a kimono and wanted to do it right. I walked in and out of the store until I worked up the courage to ask for proper help from the staff with my Google translate and they were very enthusiastic and agreed! They helped me choose every single piece of the kimono from the kimono itself down to the color of the obi. The staff was extremely nice, helpful, and fun! It really felt like the staff were eager to help and truly wanted me to walk away with the best experience. I had 3 different people join and help all while smiling and giving their honest opinions. I was so happy with the experience I even came back with a friend and met even more of their staff, also just as eager and ready to help. This store became one of my best memories in Japan and I’d gladly go back when visiting Kyoto! (10/10 highly...
