CLAY POT CURRY OHMIYA — Restaurant in Kyoto

Order via phone (and translating the site to English). Ordered: Kyoto beef curry with large rice + spicy, added Crab croquette and fried garlic. ¥2800.

Food: went for Kyoto beef after reading few reviews as being the better than their No.1 Demi-grace curry. Was very happy with my choice - very tender beef and flavourful curry overall. Crab croquette was also great. The extra fried garlic was unnecessary as the dish came with it already. Service: no issues but not much necessary as only needed to give water and bring the food. Ordered no. 1 (demi-grace stew) and no. 8 (Red wine stew). Both were based off the same curry, which was more spicy (at the default medium spiciness level) than typical Japanese spice tolerance levels. (But note that you can choose your preferred level)

While both were nice, I felt no. 8 was nicer due to the red wine-infused taste and more tender pieces of beef.

Also suspect some South East Asian influence due to the spice levels, use of clay pot and fried shallots in the dish.

欧風土鍋カレー 近江屋清右衛門 さんは創業250年以上という京漬物老舗「総本家近清」さんがプロデュースした欧風カレー専門店‪(っ ॑꒳ ॑c)

テーブル席がある店内では「牛バラ肉のデミグラス煮込みカレー・京都ポークのロースカツカレー・有頭エビと貝柱フライのカレー」などを食べていくことができます‪( ᐢᢦᐢ )

牛バラ肉のデミグラス煮込みカレーというのは定番一番人気のカレーで「ホロホロになるまでデミグラスで煮込まれた牛バラ肉」がトッピングされたカレーライス꜀( ꜆ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ)꜆

食べてみると本当にホロホロでスプーンでも簡単に切れるくらい煮込まれていました(⸝⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ - ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀⸝⸝⸝)
