Probably among our worst dining experiences, for both my daughter and me. To begin with, the food was awful. One reason we had decided to go there was that they had advertised they had beef "koobideh" (the ground beef kabob). That was not the case; it was lamb, and both my daughter and I can easily distinguish beef from lamb. The salad next to our kabob was far from fresh, the lettuce leaves were showing their age clearly. The rice was not Basmati, as it should be for Persian dishes, nor was freshly cooked (I saw with my own eyes that they put the rice in the microwave to heat them up); and the alleged saffron was simply fake food color! Secondly, the service was really poor. The person who took our order (who was also the one grilling the kabobs) was not friendly at all, my daughter was really taken aback with his attitude. Finally, the atmosphere was "strange" to say the least: loud music video playing on two TVs, showing old YouTube videos from Katy Perry and similar bands from 12 years ago or such. Overall, it was a total...
Read moreI went in there at 10pm on a Wednesday evening and it was empty. I ordered the set menu. For some reason the waiter stood and stared at me while I ate so I made conversation with him in Japanese. He looked uncomfortable and kept on looking back at the guy behind the bar. When I went to pay the bill he said there was a 10% surcharge for no reason in particular. I paid and told him in Japanese, "there's a great atmosphere in here, that's why its packed I guess." It was empty and I'm a sarcastic English guy.So if you want to have a waiter staring at you while you eat your food in an empty restaurant, this is the place for you. To be fair, it was delicious. I just don't understand why they were giving it the...
Read moreAs a persian having plenty of persian kebab in my lifetime around the world, I can say the persian kebabs here are the worst I have ever had in a restuarant anywhere in the world. The restuarant is really poorly managed. The guy serving us was a one man show, serving, cutting, cooking, everything for what should be usually a 3-4 man operation. As a result, every single food we had on a menue was pure awful. As a persian, I forbid you to ever try âpersian foodâ at this place. The server/chef was nice, but the poor guy was overworked, and I dont think he should be a chef for...
