P Dining - Kyoto Avanti — Local services in Kyoto

We found this when we were looking for a place to eat around the Kyoto Station vicinity and near the hotel we were staying.

We were seated promptly when we entered by smiling, friendly staff. Even though they didn't speak much English, we understood each other quite well and got the food we wanted.

The serving was huge! And we were satisfied with the taste. We had an enjoyable time eating here.

Too bad we didn't know about the 5% discount if we showed our passport.

I felt bad for the staff when one foreigner annoyingly asked for a take away but asked for it to be packaged as a gift. As if Japanese...

Located at the basement of Avanti, behind the escalator. They serve Japanized western food (yoshoku) like hamburg steak, omurice, etc. Had the Doria set meal (with soup and salad), it was good and cheesy but it was quite a big serving and very rich so I couldn't finish my food 🥹 But to be fair, the usual serving size in Japan sometimes is too much for me.

You have to sign in to be seated. Me and a Japanese man arrived and signed in at the same time. The Japanese man was seated as soon as he signed, and I was told him to wait outside.
