R&B Hotel Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit — Hotel in Kyoto

This hotel was much more comfortable that I expected for a station hotel. Interior simply decorated and well maintained. Staff friendly, not much English (though not a problem). Room good size for Japan, bed comfortable. Breakfast simple but good; selection of breads (changed each day), juice, soup (did not partake - too weird for breakfast for me!), coffee and boiled eggs (delicious). Location excellent; very easy to find following directions on website (although it's easier to just cross the street than take the underground passage). No noise experienced at night. The room is small, only 9 sq.m. There is even no desk or chair, but only a small movable table and a stool. But it's fine with me as a single traveller, and the room is clean and tidy. ||||The staff are very friendly and nice. They put me in a high floor with a view of Kyoto station. However, the window could not be fully opened and I could not have a full view of the station. Yet it's very nice.||||The hotel is very near JR Kyoto station Hachijo East Exit, just a walk of 2-3 minutes straight from the exit. ||||The free breakfast does not have a lot of variety of food to choose from. Stayed here for 1 night. We did not like the hotel. ||The good:||The service was ok. We received good care during our check-in and check-out.||The bad:||The room is very small. Smaller than what we had in Richmond.||The cleanliness is average. There were some dusts.||The food did not taste very good for breakfast. But it's expected for this level of hotel.||Conclusion:||Everything else about this hotel is average. We believe we could find a much better hotel...
