No style in this one....So disappointed.
Full of China Mainland People. Pure Greed in this hostal disguised/renamed hotel.
Well, the title says it all. Apart from being noisy and soooo crowded you can’t even get a breakfast without seeing these noisy crowds again. No way in h... I would ever come back to this hotel. One has to take breakfast at 6.30 because later it is overcrowded.why, because they care more about their pitiful money than about the guests’ well-being. And even at 6.35 it was already crowded.Lovely those line cutting chinese mainland tourists. Unbelievable what people are traveling nowadays. Well ,a Hotel can’t choose its guests😂😂😂 But the guest can choose the hotel, so never again this one for me. There isn’t even a safe in the room! It is in front of the station ,that’s the only thing positive about this hotel. Overpriced and oversaturated like anything in Kyoto. Full of chinese mainlanders. You get the point. Not even space for breakfast for Accor Platinum members. What a pitiful and outwardly miserable hotel. The worst Accor in all of Asia.I should have known seeing the word Ibis in the name. The rooms too small, the tv remote in japanese and absolutely non-accommodating staff people with some exception among them. It is not even worth 30 us, much less 90. What a joke. Stay far away, especially when used to much better hotels (as almost anyone is). This is for Backpackers and chinese Mainlanders, not for Westerners, not even with a lot of good will more than 2points. No. Get an APA at half price and the same amount of inconvenience. Or the Miyako Hotel just next to it. Never again. I will still write a complaint to Accor even if nobody will care because it’s only the money they want. Only word for this hotel, in all...
Read moreI chose the Ibis Styles because of its location as I planned various trips from Kyoto by train, and the hotel is opposite Kyoto JR and Kintetsu stations, and close to the Kyoto Subway station. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. My room was a twin room but I was the only occupant so I had plenty of space; it would have been less comfortable with two people but space comes at a cost. The Ibis room rate was very reasonable for the standard of accommodation provided, the central location, and at a busy time of the year. The decor was contemporary, the air conditioning was adjustable and quiet, there was desk space for my laptop, the small bar fridge was effective, the bathroom was compact but very practical with excellent water pressure and lots of hot water, and the TV was a good size. I appreciated little extras like the pajama set and the toiletries including shaver, toothbrush and toothpaste. It was good to have the BBC World Service as a free TV channel. I mention my satisfaction with all these things because I stayed for the previous three nights in a hotel - not an Accor hotel - in Shin-Osaka in a room of similar size with tired decor, a tiny TV, payment required for BBC World Service, a noisy individual room air conditioner, small desk space and an inferior refrigerator, and I paid a higher room rate than at your hotel. My only criticism is that the Wi-Fi was slow in my room. I had no trouble downloading videos to my lap top, but I could not open Facebook posts on either my phone or lap top. I had no trouble with Facebook on my phone elsewhere, including using the free Wi-Fi at...
Read moreI've booked 2 rooms for 3 nights each, for me & my wife and my sisters. All of us are satisfied with the location of the Hotel which has provided no frills service including complimentary breakfast. The Hotel claimed to be a No Smoking one but on our first night there I could smell cigarette smoke on the corridor of our floor. The smell persisted on the 2nd night. The nuisance went worse on our 3rd & last night. I smelled cigarette smoke inside my room. That drove me crazy & I was forced to raise my concern to the reception/front desk at around 11:00 pm. A visit from the recpetion staff to my room didn't help as she said she could not smell anything. I went ballistic upon hearing her comment. I told the staff if she would not like to do anything, that's fine for me and asked her to leave. After a couple of minutes, the front desk manager rang to our room for following up. He offered a change of room. As it was late and the night was our last one, I turned down his hospitality. After further chats, I asked whether the Hotel got an air purifier. They did. The manager & the reception staff bought the air purifier to our room. At that point, the manager said he could also smell cigarette smoke in our room too. I did raise my voice to the reception staff. If she felt offended, I would apologize for such. As a regular Accor hotels customer, that's the first time I met with this sort of experience. Probably, the Hotel will have to consider refusing bookings from customers of particular country or REALLY...
