Saka — Local services in Kyoto

We had lunch here after visiting Kiyomizu Dera. It’s a warm & nice soba specialty shop, serving also tempura. If you proceed further in, there is a tatami section where you can relax & look through the garden. I liked it!

Price was also reasonable. Do be patient as I think they’re a little short-handed at the moment - but the staff worked very hard relentlessly, dashing around in and out the kitchen....

Delicious family style restaurant with great soba and udon sets.

Clean and cozy spot right outside of the temple. The Japanese lady was attentive and polite. She’d ask in Japanese if you can wait for the food to come out to make sure you have the time to enjoy the food.

And yes they took their time to private to ensure the best experience. Udon was chewy and chasiu was roasted perfectly.

清水五条駅からは20分くらいの距離です。 ちょうど五条坂の坂の途中にあるお店です。 その名も「手打ちそば処　坂」名前シンプルで覚えやすいです。 ご主人がガラス越しに蕎麦を打っている姿を見て覗いてみると 奥さんが出てきて「打ち終わりましたら開店しますので」なんて言われたら待つしかない！ 蕎麦が打ち立てで食べられる喜びを噛みしめながら待つこと10分で入店。 開店と同時に、ざる蕎麦を注文！ 打ち立てということもあり、コシがしっかりしていて、ツルッと入る入る！更科そばでしたがかなりハイレベル！ あっという間に平らげてしまいました。 坂の上り下りに疲れたら「坂」で蕎麦なんていいですよ～
