Ukaku Udon — Local services in Takamatsu

One of our absolute favorite meals from our 5+ months in Japan. It's not often we'll go to the same place two nights in a row but for this one we had to - and we'll go again if we ever find ourselves back in Takamatsu. Easy ordering on the vending machine (cash only), good atmosphere, and friendly service. Both nights we arrived just after they opened, the first night we walked straight in but the second night there was a line and it ended up taking an hour before we were sat at a table. Don’t be fooled by the rating: the food is fantastic and it’s great to see the Chef in action. The pork udon is absolutely terrific, with a deep smokey/charcoaled flavor coming from the Chef’s prep.
