I had such a wonderful experience at this spa! The store manager, Misa Iwamura, took very good care of me, my stress, my skin, and the knots in my back and shoulders. I'm so grateful that I speak enough Japanese because we cracked up and chatted like good friends. Nevertheless, she was still professional, thorough and honest from start to finish, suggesting treatments as well as suggesting against particular treatments based on my skin condition, age, and lifestyle.
I tried booking an appointment via Instagram DMs but saw that I would have to call the store (if I didn't go through hotpepperbeauty.) There are English consent forms available, though, so if you're not very confident in your Japanese, perhaps visit the store in person, and try to book and communicate using a translator.
The room was dimly lit, there were gentle nature sounds and meditation music playing. There were also hangers, a basket, complimentary drinks, and warm, wet towels. I got a hydrafacial and felt an immediate difference in the texture of my skin, especially the skin on my nose. I had a lot of stress acne and comfortable food spots, and she gave me advice and dermatological words of wisdom. I can't lie though...the massage afterwards was worth the cost of the whole treatment. Her hands were experienced and magical, and given it was my second massage in my life, my body felt instant relief. I want one every week! She also asked for any spots I didn't want to be touched and got consent before touching me, which was very considerate.
As per Iwamuraさん's counselling and recommendation, I booked my next appointment immediately after paying 7,600 for this appointment. I also given complimentary rooibos tea. I was excited for my next appointment before I left the building, and I was in a fantastic mood for the rest of the day thanks to my experience...
Read moreI came here a few days before my Marathon because my whole body just didn't feel right after the long flight from Texas.
I was looking for anything similar to the traditional Swedish I get back in the US. It seems most places in my area offered Shiatsu but this particular location emphasized on oil massage so i have it a whirl.
The front area is tiny but clean i was greeted by Maho who was also going to the the one massaging me. I was given a health sheet and focus area chart to fill out.
Like all massage places Asia you wear a black paper underwear as I have also experienced on my trips to Vietnam.
The massage was just what I needed and found myself nodding off a few times and waking up to my snoreing. Speaking of which I found the walls to be super thin like paper thin so if any conversation were going on it can be heard across the rooms but for the most part it was quiet. Just something to be aware of.
Overall I was reset and felt great again she was able to work out a lot of the kinks I had and reported back to me about how tight everything was. So glad it wasnt all in my head.
I would 100%...
Read moreIt was my first time having a pure facial massage (oil only without other products except for cleansing) and I had a really great time. I had the 45-min facial massage for ¥7,300 under Angela’s care. I was a walk-in customer since I do not have Japanese mobile number which is a required information in the website (it might be different from my case, so please book ahead). It was a quick decision before I head off to my flight in the late afternoon.
The pre-foot wash and light massage was not included in the 45-minute time which made me happy. I only watched ASMR videos when I could not sleep and it is still true when I experienced it myself—I believe I slept for a while during the facial massage. Angela handled my face and upper back carefully during cleansing, and still did excellent doing the deep pressure massage.
Overall, I am very much satisfied with Angela’s service and happy that she is my therapist for my first [Japanese] facial massage making it a relaxed and...
