Ate at their adjoining corn dog/mozzarella stick/coin stand and was deeply disappointed. They advertised the 10 Yen Coin with fantastic signage for a long beautiful cheese pull. My girlfriend and I were so pumped! Looked like we were in for an embarrassment of cheese.
But the joke was on us! There was no gooey cheese pull at all. The thing was way more breading than cheese. Asked him to remake it and the guy dismissively sniffed that you can't ever get it like the photo anyway it won't ever look like that. But then why have the advertisements everywhere all showing this epic cheezy treat? Total scam. 2nd attempt was as lousy as the first just overcooked (maybe he thought it would make it gooey-er??) but clearly not enough cheese being used.
Clearly a knock-off of the popular 10 Yen Coin mozzarella snack that's so popular right now. Feels like they're just trend hopping to make a quick buck. Was like buying Adidas and getting Adidaz instead =/
0/10, it cannot be understated. Hopefully their kebab is more authentic than their...
Read moreIf you're looking for non-Japanese food in Japan, this is where you should be! The business is at the entrance of a short hallway. It's two small storefronts on either side of the hallway. They serve sliced meat on a stick on one side and extra long French fries on the other.
This meat on a stick is called "doner" and is very popular throughout Tokyo. It's sliced chicken stacked and placed on a long skewer with sauce in-between and stood up vertically in a warmer. When you order, they will slice off pieces and stuff them into bread pockets with veggies and more sauce. It's incredible, so much flavor!
The extra long fries across the hall are worth the calories too! They start with mashed potatoes and put them into a handheld extruder. The fries come out eight inches long! After they're fried, they get topped with the same sauce options as the doner...

This was the first kebab shop i visited when i moved to Japan in 2008. The shop still holds it ground as one of the best places to eat doner in Tokyo. The original shop is still there, and is well known. Many TV shows and Japanese celebs have visited here. When I first visited in 2008, the store had probably the best beef kebabs i have eaten. And i always travelled the distance to eat there way back when. But, it seems that most shops now only have a certain date for adding beef to the grills. So, its basically timing it right. Never the less, the chicken is amazing. Decent weight and value, and teh customer service is great. The same guy served me today, as in 2008. I know from my vidoe i found another 4 shops, that seem generic. I will check them out at some point, but i wanted to showcase the more well known...
