I was looking for places around Tokyo to get a quick split ends haircut. I’ve had 2 other haircuts from other salons in Tokyo in the past year and I liked this one the best. The other ones I been to advertised English speaking, good ratings (4.5 stars or more), and had a lot more reviews. This one had a 5 star, not a lot of reviews compared to other places, so I was curious to check it out.

They were able to get me in for a walk in quick and smooth, maybe because it was a Sunday. Yo was able to speak English and he used to work in New York so he understood what Americans like. He even told me to ask my hair stylists to thin the hair from the top instead of the bottom to keep my hair straight. Other salons I’ve been to seemed to do what the Japanese prefer, which is a little bit more of a cute Style with more layers. My Boyfriend said my hair looked the nicest it had in a long time, and I feel the same way. Yo knows what he’s doing and I wish his salon well....

I reserved a 2 hour time slot for a cut and color through Hot Pepper Beauty app in advance of my trip to Tokyo. I was really looking forward to some self-care on a Sunday afternoon when the owner sadly suggested that the balayage I wanted would take longer than the time that the app allotted (3 hours instead of 2). This was not exactly the salon's fault, as the app could have a better feature to distinguish between a simple dye vs intricate color job. Maybe a confirmation before bookings could have corrected this too. The owner was extremely attentive to detail and spent a good amount of time assessing my old cut, trying to envision if he could bleach and tone my hair in time. Unfortunately, we agreed that he could not do his best work in a rush and so we settled with a wash and cut. I appreciate his honesty and care. EDIT: I came back and Yo and his team were able to make my years of bleached hair into a beautiful and consistent taro milk tea colour. I am still in disbelief that they were able to create something so flawless. I look forward to returning here for my next appointment when possible!

This boutique salon was an extremely pleasant experience for me. The salon owner, Yo was fluent in English and was able to understand my wishes for my hair.

I made an appointment for a bang perm and trim, and he meticulously took the time to correct my haircut and walk me through all the steps. I won't forget to mention that the hair wash and massage was the best I've ever experienced.
