Aromatherapy full body massage at RM150 per pax. Overall the massage had exceeded our somewhat low expectations, but we will not be returning despite a generally enjoyable massage.
Don't come here expecting 5-star facilities and service. Concierge reception was fine but lack of communication meant that we were asked our preference for the massage and rooms twice. Previous slot overran and we waited around 15 minutes past our appointment time.
Our group of 3 chose the room with 3 "beds" - 3 thin mattresses on the floor, its "sheets" replaced at each change of customer with a thin, damp-feeling sarong type of fabric. No dividers or curtains in the room, meaning that you are expected to strip and change in the presence of your group. Didn't feel very confident with the hygiene of the mattress and towels used, but at least they smelled relatively clean and fresh. The damp sheets just put us off a bit.
Now for the positives - our masseuses were middle-aged Thai aunties who definitely knew what they were doing. I had opted for a hard-strength massage and I did enjoy her presses on my back and shoulders. My friend said her masseuse had paid particular attention to a knot in her right shoulder, and actually massaged it out. They actually did massage our neck and shoulders a fair bit at the end , which is uncommon for most full-body massage places I've experienced. My only complaint would be that my masseuse strokes felt rather rushed. Otherwise, it was definitely better than I had expected.
Conclusion: this is a no-frills massage parlour where you might get a decent massage but in a mediocre environment. I think the price is actually good and justified by the establishment's location, but unless you absolutely need a massage in the KLCC area, I would suggest...
Read moreThis is my second time visit to Erawan Avenue K. Last time was perfect which has made me comeback. This time i can only rate this much.
I booked an appointment at 5pm and arrived 5-10 minutes later. As I entered the place, I saw the receptionist counter occupied by 2 Japanese women. I’m not sure what’s the issue but I believe they have been sitting there for quite some time. I was called to make payment at the counter but the Japanese still sitting there which had made me stand and pay at the counter. They also didn’t ask what type of massage that I want and did not explain anything. All they do was just solving these Japanese issue.
Right after payment, I was brought to the foot scrub corner by the receptionist and the masseur came after. My experience before, receptionist played as a middle man since most masseur didn’t know English well. But this time, the receptionist just said that the masseur will come to me. She didn’t ask me what pressure that I want or what type of aromatherapy oil that I prefer.
The massage was completely good tho. I took 1 hour massage only due to time constraint and I remember I arrived 5.10 pm. My feet was scrub for 5 minutes and few minutes to prepare for the massage. As my massage about to finish at 6.10, the receptionist slide the curtain a little bit and take a peek which I believe to remind my therapist to quickly finish at that time but hey, does the 1 hour include the foot scrub? I have never experienced like this in any spa where someone can take a peek? Since I also have few times coming to Erawan (Nu Sentral/Avenue K) I know that the massage will end with some kind of stretching. But because of the receptionist, my masseur rushed to end my massage.
How disappointing your overall...
Read moreCalled them yesterday to ask whether the construction work was still going on. They receptionist said no. Previously we had a massage there with a very very loud construction noise next door. Got there and the construction was full on with the noise. All she said was "oh I can't hear it". I checked the noise from the massage room and it was not as bad as before so i went ahead. I specifically requested for a strong masseuse. I specifically said i want a naturally strong one, not someone who force herself to give a strong massage. I got a very skinny and weak masseuse. Even after i repeatedly asked to do stronger she was not consistent with the strength. It was really disappointing. I also told the receptionist the parts that i want extra attention (my back). The masseuse didn't seem to know what she was doing. And hurt me a couple of times. It was really disappointing for a place like this. And i noticed that they receptionist always come to customers and ask "how was you massage? Good?" with a big smile and 2 thumbs up. I find that annoying especially when the massage was not good. Its like they were suggesting us to say good and nothing else if you know...
