This is a ramen place that I'll consider to come again for meals.
I love the noodle texture. If you like thicker and firm noodles like me, then I'll recommend the Tsukemen here. Tsukemen is where the noodle is boiled n chilled, then you're served the noodles and hot soup separately. You then take the noodle and dip it in the soup, so the soup will be saltier as compared to ramen soup. I rarely see Tsukemen being offered around here. But for me the best tasting Tsukemen, aside from Japan, is at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Japanese District. Currently, I'm still hunting for the best in Malaysia. So far here is not bad.
As for the ramen, I'll have to come back n taste it n I'll do a review of it again. I think I'll go to a different branch and try.
I ordered the Chashu (Rolled up Pork belly which is braised in sauce for hours, sliced then charred), Kakuni (somewhat like braised pork/Chinese Char Siu) and Buta Slices (stir fried pork belly slices). The Buta Slices taste the best with Rice and Chashu with Ramen/Tsukemen. The Kakuni is....not as good when we tried it.
The Garlic Fried Rice is not bad.
So I must say, order a garlic fried rice and get the Buta Slices. I'm a little disappointed about the Kakuni cus it's dry. It's overcooked. I have made Kakuni n Chashu before for my homemade Ramen. Kakuni is supposed to be tender. Too bad it's overcooked. Chashu here is okay.
The potion given for the meal is good. But the rice ones might be a little small, so if you have a good appetite, then maybe add another bowl of Fried Rice🤣. And if you think the noodles given are not enough, feel free to add extra noodles especially for the Tsukemen cus the soup given is a lot so if you eat a lot or thinking to share, Go for Tsukemen n get extra noodle like I did. If here offered soup to dilute the Tsukemen's soup, I'll order it, make it into ramen dish n then share with my friend. Lol.
Let's see, for the Buta Kakuni Rice, well it looks exactly like shown in the menu, it looks delicious, it's just the main point of the dish, Kakuni, was hard. If its tender then it'll be great. Oh well.
The environment here is good and service is not bad. Free Green Tea top up like other Japanese restaurants, it's about RM 5 per cup.
As for the pricing, I'll say it's...
Read moreFood wise is ok as I'm not a connoisseur to comment anything about it, but the attitude of the young lady cashier has made me really mad. It is true that I'm wearing simple, it doesn't means that I can't afford to pay the bill. At first enter the shop, the way I was treated by the waiter are good but when time to serve food, the difference are clearly seen. My neighbour table food will be explained at least the name of the order when food was served but all 6 items I have ordered were just transported to my table. It was like just eat it or leave it on whatever being served. At point of payment, this young lady cashier with arrogant attitude throwing the receipt on the counter desk to ask me check for the items before paying. I choose to pay cash this time as I try to reduce some load in my wallet. This young lady shout loudly saying my first 100 note in the money I gave is fake, I asked her to show the prove and she just simply point on somewhere saying softly that I can't hear but reluctant to put it under the UV machine to show it again. So I gave her another 100 note and she said it is fake too. I don't know she saw the stack of notes in my wallet or my credit card, suddenly her attitude changed. She smile and say it is ok with the note and accept the second one. She even bow when I leave the shop. I'm not sure why she accepts the note that she claimed is fake and I don't know why her attitude suddenly change when I brings out my wallet. If this shop doesn't want to serve people with simple clothing, please put a board with the required dress code at your entrance. You don't have to serve people differently because of the wearing and this discriminate attitude is really giving bad impression for your customers. In the end, I try to deposit the first 100 note into bank via machine and the note was accepted showing that it is not a fake...
Read moreAs a ramen enthusiast, this was by far the worst ramen I have ever tasted. I usually finish the broth down to the last drop, but here, I couldn’t bring myself to take a second sip—it had an unpleasant, fishy aftertaste. The single slice of chashu wasn’t fresh, and the noodles were overly soft, resembling the texture of cheap instant ramen. Given the high price, the quality and taste were simply unacceptable.
The service was equally disappointing. I ordered one spicy tonkotsu ramen and one non-spicy, but they brought two non-spicy bowls instead. When I pointed out the mistake, the staff merely handed us a small plate of spicy spring onions, claiming that adding them to the non-spicy ramen would turn it into the spicy version, insisting there was no other difference. It was clear that they were deceiving us, as I’d seen pictures shared by others, and the broth for the spicy version was obviously different.
Furthermore, they didn’t provide water, and when I calmly expressed my dissatisfaction about the taste, the staff’s only reaction was to point at the receipt for payment without a single word or eye contact. This was infuriating. I paid, feeling quite angry, and discarded the receipt immediately.
To make matters worse, upon returning to my hotel, I discovered that they had clearly overcharged me by at least 10 RM. This was a truly disgraceful dining experience, and I have never before felt compelled to tell a restaurant staff that their food was bad. I strongly advise against visiting this place. Avoid it...
