For the students that are studying in Monash and Sun-U, PLEASE look elsewhere. The rooms are old, but it's maintained very well. Some facilities may be broken, but the management will fix it if it's not extremely severe. I had a severe water leakage that leaves a hole on my roof, and that was never fixed until I moved out, management kept saying "because covid, we can't get people to fix this", which is fair, but at least move me to another room temporarily. Just a heads up, this is what you need to expect.

I had a master bedroom with attached bathroom, costs RM1250 per month, including electricity and water. Washing machine and dryer are provided with no extra charge. However, nobody cleans the dryer filter, so you have to do it yourselves. Other tenants either don't know or too lazy to do it. Advertised that they have an oven and dish cleaner, but both are broken. At least the induction top is working, so you can still cook.

Now here's my issue. Place is infested with cockroaches. Especially the toilets. If you have an attached bathroom like me, you'll surely find a cockroach coming out of there in the middle of the night or early morning. If you have food in your own room, definitely the smell will attract the cockroaches. No matter how much you clean, they will still come. The drain pipes are infested with them, management never do anything about it. I cannot handle cockroaches, so I highly suggest you go for Sun-U Residence or any other uni provided residence. Despite the WiFi being unusable, I'd rather deal with that than cockroaches. At least with WiFi being the issue, I can go out and buy my own package (TIME is pretty good).

Another major issue, and this applies to all other co-living residences (units where you live with other people), is the tenants. Talk with your agent, see whether they know who their other tenants are. If they know they're the quiet type and can handle them, sure, go for it. If you have the slightest doubt that the agent is gaslighting you, don't. You don't wanna cause trouble to other tenants yourself, let the...

2 stars only cause its super convenient to go to sunway / monash uni but yall there are better options for real and nadayu used to be so nice, quiet, and peaceful during the lockdown era when i was there (2021, but the management still sucked tho lolz)

-so many roaches -cleaners dont clean well and sometimes they don't even come for 2+ weeks which doesn't sit right as we are paying our dorms to be cleaned -sijc management sucks, u have to pay extra to top up ur ac + dryer card bruhhh why the hell would u do this.. just add the bill to the rent or wtv and if we exceed just let us pay the extra PLUS omfg the ppl who are in charge of sijcs whatsapp hotline SUCKKK, theres always so many miscommunication issues ESPECIALLY WHEN I PUT IT IN SUCH SIMPLE TERMS EVEN AN INFANT CAN UNDERSTAND (some screenshots below) -took me a month to get my deposit back, im sure it doesnt need to take THAT long 😂 and on top of that, i had to constantly ask and remind them about the deposit -besides sijc, do also be mindful of luxe management, their prices for most rooms are honestly pretty expensive especially as it increases each year. management would also sometimes not listen to tenants requests which literally relate to safety concerns--which obviously is very concerning. -extra safety: most units do not have the external grill and honestly it should be there.. someone rings the bell.. and no one answers, as expected BUT I WONDER WHY -when you wanna bring guests over, u have to bring them to the guardhouse to get registered which is so god damn annoying. what us students are in a rush for something and just need an extra helping hand? someones life could be at risk per say and the guards gon be like "nooo go register" 🤡 like chill dude just let the guests be registered through the spinny gate area which is so much nearer and convenient for us

anyways...pls stay anywhere but here if you wanna save your time dealing with such shitty management.. unless u wanna get scammed and deal with everything that was mentioned in the other reviews,...

after living here for 3 years for my undergrad, there is nothing good anymore about a building that’s only facet is having a strategic location - fart in the wind now because there are so many other options you can go for - like seriously are you really going to go to rock cafe for the 6th time this week? or maybe the other sunway restaurants? probably not because none of them are as good as the ones in kl with the exception of after black

lets talk agencies: pick luxe over einstein houz/sijc management - einstein houz has been one of the most painful experiences and they will keep hiking your rent to either keep you here or leave, it’s predatory to students because most who can afford tuition fees of sunway and monash don’t mind forking over more for rent

the building reeks of sewage and some floors look dilapidated, units too causing cockroaches from the dozen, and enjoy your coinflip housemates, either they’ll never talk to you and steal your food, or talk to you and do the same thing, enjoy having a unit smelling of 🍃 and loud noises with paper thin walls

rooms don’t come with anything except a broken chair and a table, curtains leak light and if you have more than 4 clothing items then good luck fitting them inside a tiny closet - did i mention the air conditioning pricing is tripled?

there is no lobby and the megalomaniac guards will whistle at you for nothing - very uncooperative for moving in also, i can’t park my car near the lobby when i’m moving in? or maybe when im retrieving my food or my package - scrutinised and checked poorly

they revamped their gym so it’s actually quite decent now, and there is a corner shop that sells about everything which also closes quite late which is very convenient, and a 24/7 laundromat also which is great
