Honeymoon trip- 4 nights in late Sept/early October 2017. Shuttle from the airport was easy to find and took us straight to the hotel. The check-in process was a tad onerous. We got shuttled around a few times to different people talking about adventures & special dinners & blah blah blah...after a long day of traveling and wanting to begin our honeymoon I could only stand so many feeble sales pitches and requested to be left alone. Good news is you can exchange $$ at the front desk with no fee - extremely helpful!
The property is stunning! Immaculately manicured landscaping and the grounds were spotless. Part of the beauty was how they incorporated the side of Mt. Solmar into the architecture so it felt like you were part of the natural environment. Unlike anything I've ever seen before, it really transported you to a different world. It's called Land's End because there is literally nowhere else to go except into the Pacific Ocean where you can NOT swim but its certainly beautiful to look at.
Our room was in building 6 on the 9th floor and it was incredible. Little kitchen had anything you would need to cook (we didn't), bathroom had 2 sinks, a big tub, spacious shower & plenty of towels. Bed was super comfy...Dining area was chill we mostly used it in passing. The piece de reistance was the balcony!! Wow first off the view was simply idyllic. Then it wrapped around the side and there was a whole other section of balcony that could fit like 50 people comfortably it was insane!! We definitely got lucky with the room, I don't think all of them have that dope balcony. But I'm sure they all have a nice view.
Pools were the place to hang out. Met some chill fellow travelers but if you want to be left alone, go to the furthest pool. That place was relatively quieter. Service was fine - I was a bit taken aback by the high prices of food & drinks but I suppose it makes sense. If you can afford the nightly rate most likely you can afford the NYC-like prices for food & drinks. Eventually we caught on and brought our own little bottles of booze with us and poured them into soda. The food was good tho- fish tacos & quesadillas on point. Guac was just OK.
We dined at La Roca for breakfast which was AWESOME! My wife had dinner there one night and she didn't love it. Again- pricey. Another night we tried the sushi which I wasn't impressed with at all. Overall the food in Cabo was sub-par but at the hotel you really pay for it.
To get to the city center- its a decent 20 minute walk. Did it a few times but in the heat of the day its a killer. Especially walking the hill back up.
Most people we met had a timeshare and I could understand why - its a beautiful place! I got a weird vibe from Cabo because of the tourist focus but thats not an indictment of the hotel - its just part of the...
Read moreI think people get this confused as the resort. Believe this review section is specifically for the Spa. My wife and I visited the spa on 12/09/2020. The food in our package was delicious. The massages were good, along with the facials. The service was excellent. Prices are a bit high, when considering you are in Mexico. Expect to pay Las Vegas pricing here. Servers are fluent in English y español. If you have the all-inclusive package with the resort you receive a discount. It is a little disappointing because there wasn't enough clear information when making reservations that all-inclusive, it not in fact, all-inclusive. So, if you know that going in to it, you might not feel so bad to learn you only receive a discount. Plan and reserve your...
Read moreThe spa at Lands end, In Cabo San Lucas exceeded my expectations! I travel often and have been to many different spas, most are good, but not usually great! Ana was my estitestitician and I had the most amazing facial! She is so professional and obviously very knowledgeable about the product she uses. She is also very quiet and does not interrupt the service with needless chatter itwas a very calming experience. She also did one of the best neck and shoulder massages I have ever experienced, .I wanted to stay forever but I am blessed to be...
