We were looking back at it recently and I had to come back and write the review about this moment. There were individuals on board with us from the age of nine all the way up to 74, and every single person walked away with a WOW.

This private excursion was purchased through our hotel, Riu, which gave us the safety and security of a larger excursion that could be secured with our credit card—no worries about compromisation from booking directly. And honestly? It was a huge savings. There were 12 of us, and each person only paid less than $100 to connect and create memories that will last a lifetime.

This was a five-in-one experience:

Bonding time – Our family had been through so much. Tragedy after tragedy last year. And this gave us the moment we needed. Whale watching – We’ve tried Hawaii. We’ve tried the Dominican Republic. Nothing. But this time? Our captain delivered. We saw whales! Food & tequila – I don’t drink, but my family does, and they got to take shots on a private yacht. Personalized photography – They took pictures of us without being in the way—letting us truly feel like we had a private, secure moment while still being looked after. Beach time & Cabo Sea jump – They took us to a private beach. I jumped into the Cabo Sea and the water was surprisingly warm. It was seriously straight out of a movie scene.

We also saw the arches of Cabo, we saw cruise ships at night, and the entire experience felt like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air yacht moment—but for our family.

What I appreciated most was the awareness of the staff. From watching for jet skiers to keeping an eye on the cruise ships—they ensured everyone was safe, seen, and supported.

This experience made us dream even bigger. One day we want a full private yacht with a crew and a chef—and this was our perfect introduction. If you’re looking for a trustworthy place, this is it.

Terrible Experience with Papillon Yachts

We had a horrible experience with Papillon Yachts. We made a reservation, and they canceled on us the same day they charged our credit card. We didn’t even know about the cancellation until we checked our email the day before, thinking everything was still on schedule.

There was no courtesy call or proper communication—just an email. It was incredibly disappointing, especially during a busy holiday season. We had to scramble at the last minute to find another activity to fill our day.

To make matters worse, they offered no apology and casually stated we’d get a refund in about five days. The lack of professionalism and customer service is appalling. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable yacht experience.

Updated review after their response. We booked this tour weeks in advance, not “same-day” as the owner falsely claims. We. Never talked over the phone as we were in the States at that time. The company canceled on us the day before our scheduled tour, leaving us scrambling to find an alternative at the last minute. Their response is completely misleading and an attempt to shift blame.

We booked through Viator, which showed availability, and if they had a discrepancy in their system, that was their responsibility—not ours. Instead of honoring our confirmed reservation or reaching out professionally to rectify the situation, they simply canceled without offering any solutions.

Unforgettable Engagement Experience with Papillon Yachts

From start to finish, the entire Papillon team provided world-class service. I chose this company to help plan my engagement proposal, and they exceeded all expectations. They coordinated with a florist to beautifully set up flowers at the front of the yacht and even surprised us with a specially baked cake.

My partner and I arrived in Cabo via Princess Cruise, and upon reaching the dock, Maya was already waiting to greet us. She escorted us to the Papillon office, conveniently located nearby, where we checked in before being taken on a private van ride to our yacht.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed with refreshing Palomas and fresh fruit. Captain Sergio, Carlos, and our photographer, Samantha, greeted us warmly and made the entire experience even more magical. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly stood out. Carlos prepared the best guacamole and margaritas we’ve ever had!
