I’ve ordered from Adora’s Nigerian African Food before, and I must say, my previous experience was great. Their rice, puff puff, chin chin, and plantain were all delicious, and I had no real issues beyond the standard conversion charge, which is perfectly normal.
However, during a recent trip back to Cancun, my experience was less than satisfactory. Initially, I reached out to place an order but was informed they were closed for the holidays, which I understood and appreciated the communication.
Fast-forward to this trip—I messaged them again, and they read my message without replying. Wanting to support their business, I decided to order directly through their website, where I was charged for the order. Unfortunately, they didn’t reply or provide any updates.
Here’s my concern: if a restaurant is closed, the least they could do is reply to customers or set up an auto-reply message so we know they’re unavailable. It’s basic courtesy. Leaving customers in the dark after charging them is not only unprofessional but also frustrating.
I don’t want to seem overly critical, but I also don’t want someone else to go through this kind of experience—paying for an order and then dealing with unnecessary hassles.
Adora’s has potential, as my first experience was positive, but better communication and customer service would go a long way in maintaining trust and satisfaction.
Now I have to dispute it with my credit card, and it’s just a hassle. Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, I’m not supposed to be stressed out about paying for some food, and then not getting a reply.
