The Gym Playa del Carmen — Local services in Playa del Carmen

After spending 600 dollars to go to this gym in taxis and gym fees (for 10days gym time ) when I'm staying at a 5 star hotel with a gym for free !!!

But as I fight in the UFC love trying different gyms and most ask me to go there as a guest for free but rather pay .

Nice gym and most the staff are friendly but I have never ever been spoken or treated by anyone the way I was this morning by the female member off staff and I speak fluent Spanish aswell!!!

There are plenty off other gyms in playa definitely try them this member of staff was so rude 2 days ago aswell but thought maybe she was having a bad day but to be spoken to at 6 am the way she did and her attitude hellllll no such a shame and apparently all the current members and staff say the same thing such a shame how one person can have such a negative impact and it really is just one staff member as all the others are amazing but as she is the one that greets you and is your receptionist unfortunately she is the face of your gym...

I wish I could say 3.5 stars. It’s better than some gyms in town, but certainly not the best option.

For a place that claims to be “state of the art,” the bathroom showers don’t have hot water, there are no towels available, and there’s no customer service.

When I first joined they just took my payment and handed me a scannable card. No tour, no explanation of any rules, etc. As someone who used to own a gym, and worked in gyms for over a decade, this is such a missed opportunity. They should be onboarding people to the community. It takes 5 min to give someone a tour, and to tell them about the app they can download.

Pros: fairly well maintained equipment and very clean!

The young chap at reception is quite rude to be honest, the lady at reception is very nice though.The gym itself is very clean and has a good atmosphere. They have a gym assistant who helps people get their last rep and keeps the place clutter free. There are 2 smith machines and a squat rack, just one bench press but there are a collection of kettle bells and various machines and free weights. In terms of price it is over-priced , they also have to give a little customer service training to the young chap at reception, as reception is the first point of contact...
