Killer Hair — Local services in Waitematā

Yeah I would never go here again.. From the moment I stepped into this salon the expirence was not great. There was no receptionist to start with and everyone looked way too busy to talk to you. I noticed a lot of other clients like myself just waiting around in the chairs for service (and no I didn't just walk in, I had my appointment booked 3 weeks in advance).

When the stylist finally came over she refused to colour my hair because I had black hair dye in it and offered no other solutions apart from to chop my long hair off into a Bob... then she offered to do a strand test on my hair. She assured me that she will send me the results asap but i never heard from her again... 1 week later I went to Rodney Wayne asking for the same service and they managed to colour my hair beautifully.

Never had such bad service in an hair salon before and it's safe to say I wont return.

Firstly, wow I am shocked at your lack of professionalism. I left a genuine review of my experience and instead taking it as feedback to improve, you have decided to comment on my personality. Its good to know that you judge your clients after talking to them for 5 minutes.

My hair was professionally coloured black by a salon which I told you at the time, if only you bothered to listen. I even said that its ok if my hair doesnt turn out perfectly and told you to do what you can but you still refused.

Other salons do not require you to "book" a consultation separately as a consultation always happens before a service. Also, If you had already decided not to do my hair and "open that can of worms" why did you chop off a chunk of my hair afterwards to do a strand test and promise that you will get back to me? Lol I even followed up about the outcome of the strand test a few days later and there was nothing so your response is an absolute joke.

To anyone reading this review, save your money go somewhere else. There are so many salons out there with courteous and professional stylists that are skilled enough to colour any hair not just those...

NOT the place for quality curly cuts, sadly.

Despite my extensive questions being answered in the affirmative in a phone call before booking, Steven does not ‘dry cut’ curly hair.

My hair was washed twice, conditioned, dried and then styled with products BEFORE being cut.

I now have a very average haircut that looks terrible au naturel and requires product and styling to look good. Just as I told him it would.

When will those who profess to be curly haircutters embrace the wild and untamed nature of curly hair and WORK WITH IT, instead of trying to control it?

Very disappointed. Not the least because he knew I was not sold on his technique, nor the results when I left the salon and there has been no follow up call or email, nor request for feedback. Consequently there will be no change and no growth for Steven and no return appointments for me.
