Wow, what an awesome little shop this is. Gives off the feeling of being in a friendly hobby shop, rather than a larger retail chain with zombie's for employees. Alicia, Ben and Rob took the time to sit down with me and made sure I picked out the right mountaineering boots and crampons. Literally spent several hours in the shop walking around in circles, with the staff having a constructive argument over which shoe size would be best for me. They even did an urgent special order for me to ensure I got the right boots in time for my upcoming trip. Would highly recommend. Great grassroots store offering a large range of quality products. Living Simply is simply my favourite shop in Auckland! It is our family's "go-to" for anything to do with the outdoors. They stock high quality gear at reasonable prices and the staff are informed and helpful. They don't try and sell things I don't need and they don't encourage me to cut corners when I do need something. I have never been disappointed by my experience of shopping there. I can highly recommend Living Simply for packs, waterproofs, sleeping bags, torches, warm gear, boots and general tramping/camping as well as more specialised mountain gear. This is a family business...

I can't recommend the team here enough. These guys are legends. They give great advice, really know what they are talking about and aren't pushy or trying to make a sale. I had a problem with a jacket I bought there and they went way beyond the call of duty with the supplier to get me a replacement even though I had left the country a year ago and was still overseas. Great to see a locally owned business run by guys who love the outdoors as an alternative to the big chains with staff who don't have a connection to what they are selling. Better prices too and greater variety...
