Worst experience yesterday. Me and my daughter always shopped at Mecca Newmarket. We love this branch as the girls are all nice, approachable and polite. We are going on holiday and we wanted to buy a lot of products that we need before our flight. We are ready to spend more money than the past visit here. But yesterday was different one girl filipino was rude and keep looking at us. Maybe she thinks were not buying anything. Because i kept looking around. And not carrying any products with me. Well, i don’t normally carry the products with me even in baskets while im still looking around. Because i want my hand to be free while im trying on other products to buy. I will only get all the products i want when i am finish and ready to pay. Just so you know. I already picked around $300 worth of products yesterday and was still looking around to add some more. Until you approach me. Not everyone know your rules. My bad maybe. As i mention we always come to Mecca Newmarket and no one approach me ever about your rules on how to try the products on. A lot if people are trying stuff on but you just really choose me to approach. So i ended up not getting anything because of you. Well atleast my daughter still bought some products from Mecca yesterday. But me, you just changed my mood into not buying everything i picked. We then left and went to Sephora and Hikoco. Spent all that money that i was going to spend at Mecca. Will never go back to Mecca Newmarket. We rather drive to Sylvia Park instead next time. Read moreGot sold a used product a week before from Sylvia and was told I had to wait for the manager to contact me. Till this day she never did. Called customer service and they said to go to my nearest store which is Newmarket. Explained the situation like 5 times to the disgusting manager Millie and that I wanted to exchange it for a unused one and she started yelling I swapped the product. If I swapped it I wouldn't have called customer service and I would just make a full return instead. Millie literally started screaming to me "obviously you've bought this years ago and now you're trying to swap it, but like yous said... you've contacted customer service so I will exchange it for you" I said to her, "did you say I bought this years ago?" She repeated the same thing again. I said "how can I have bought this years ago when I have the receipt and I only started shopping with mecca last year". And she kept screaming "this doesn't happen" it got to the point customers and staff were staring at us. Her intentions were obviously to make me feel embarrassed. She came back with a new one, pulled it out and said "look this is a brand new one, I'm showing you so you can't swap it again" I didn't even speak after that, I was so shocked someone would say that. Please see where it say “STILL AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE.” You we’re not “out of stock.” Saying that you were out of stock and still having available to purchase is clearly misleading and a scam. You also have a data base of loyalty customers, why would not ensure there “were” enough? Please reply in a polite tone.
After spending thousands on products at Mecca, one bad experience has turned me away from them.
The beauty loop box is a total scam! They set a certain amount of “freebies” so you don’t actually end up getting them. But the “out of stock” freebies are still available to purchase. What annoyed me was that they still sent me emails saying that I could claim them!!!! At no point do they tell you that their freebies are “out of stock.” So you get mislead into making a purchase online.
I made an enquiry with the customer services team in hope that they could come up with a resolution. However they took zero accountability and just sent me very generic based responses. Eventually they just stopped replying to me, even though I had very reasonable requests and we’re written in a respectful manner.
Have made a complaint with the commerce commission as Mecca is clearly breaching the law with misleading advertising.
It is just very disappointing that they didn’t even attempt to make things right or even show an inch of accountability.
