We chose this place was because of 2 reasons, 1 being that it's near Bulabog Beach and 2 the price. Those were the only 2 concerns and expectations. What we got was so much more. First of all, if you've been to Boracay many times, but would like to experience it in a different aspect, staying near Bulabog beach is excellent. It's Boracay at your own pace and with your own rules. The Lazy Dog Bed & Breakfast was the perfect hub to help situate yourself in that scenario (which is any scenario you choose). The laid back vibe, the personal and private lounge at your veranda made it just that, laid back. The walk to the beach is a stone's throw away, basically a few small buildings away down the little road. A much more quieter experience. The place itself has a very island vibe to it. You're met with the basic necessities in your room, nothing more, nothing less. There's a television and WIFI is accessible throughout the place. I even saw people working on their laptop at one of the tables outside our room. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Even the guard at midnight was hospitable trying to make our experience great when we asked if there was ice available when the staff had already retired home and the kitchen was empty. So, kudos to the security guard, the hospitality extends throughout everyone there. The breakfast was really good! This is the type of Filipino breakfast that'll get you through your morning and mid-day (it's that fueling). I had fried fish, sunny-side up eggs, some vegetables, and delicious garlic fried rice. My wife had beef tapa. Mine was so good, she wanted to fight me for my meal. We were surprised by the size, it's definitely not the type of plated breakfast you usually may get at a small canteen or budget hotel. They also served Vietnamese coffee. Now, I make coffee at home with my own kit, and I didn't have enough room to bring my V60. So when I saw that they gave you a personal filter for the coffee that drips into a cup of condensed milk, I KNEW that THEY knew their coffee, and I was VERY pleased by that lol, I know..I'm a coffee snob, and they pleased this snob. I did say that there were some surprises. We were expecting that since we were at Bulabog beach, that we would have to take transportation going to Station 2 or D-Mall or places to eat. Nope, we were dead wrong The top of D-Mall where the McDonald's and Jollibee are, was like a 5 minute walk, to White Beach it's like another 5 minute walk. We were really near. Transportation is also really easy to get if you need it, just walk a few minutes away and there's trikes waiting for you. So like I said, if you want a quiet stay, you can make it a quiet stay, but if you want to be among the hustle and bustle you can make a 5 minute walk to where it is and retire back to your peaceful abode, leaving them there at the Stations to do their thing. This place is a place to try for someone who want to experience Boracay the way YOU want it. We also requested a late checkout because we were transferring to Mandarin Bay for another experience. Check-out was at 12 and check-in was at 3pm at Mandarin so we wanted to stay a little longer to kill some time. The charge is so minimal. It was P100 an hour, so we said we'll stay an extra 2hrs. If your flight is at let's say 4pm or like in our case we had another place booked where check-in was a few hrs away and instead of going directly to the airport if flying out or spending money to wait at a restaurant or coffee shop, might as well extend your stay. They were so nice tho that they waived the fee! They were too nice, we would have been more than happy to spend P200 for an extra 2hrs. Actually, I should have just left it as a tip. They deserve all the praise. We asked for a late checkout at Mandarin Bay and it was 1k per hour lol. The Lazy Dog wins in their genuine care for your experience. Overall, wonderful experience and we had no regrets! PS, one of their dogs, the brown one likes butt scratches and pats lol. She was backing up into me when I stopped haha, she wanted more!

Service from their front desk, kitchen, and servers was so great that it makes it hard to say anything bad about the place, but I have to be honest and suggest improvements for their rooms (or at least Room 302) and walking spaces. First, I commend their staff for their friendliness, helpfulness, and efficiency. Belle from their front desk helped me setup a surprise birthday song with brownies and candles for three people. Thank you, Belle! Raffy and Eric, our servers, were great every morning we had breakfast. They were quick and remembered some of our preferences, even though we only stayed a few days. I didn't meet anyone from the kitchen, but their food was delicious! Ordered something different each morning. Their Vietnamese coffee was the best coffee we had on the island. Now, about our room. We paid for the cheapest room, so I feel like we got what we paid for. Nonetheless, even cheap rooms should be clean. However, our room had what seemed like mold/mold stains on the ceiling and walls and dust bunnies in the bath exhaust (which didn't work) and in the AC vent. The sink's faucet was placed in a way that when turned on, there was no way to avoid the water from splashing on the counter and eventually dripping onto the floor. The bathroom bulb flickered when off (it was creepy at night, so we kept in on overnight). The AC's buttons didn't work properly (pressing a button triggered another button's function). All of the lights were too dim and the patio lightbulb was dead. It rained during our stay and we had to walk on mud to get to our room. It would be nice to have stepping stones leading to rooms, so guests wouldn't have to walk on mud. I know that last paragraph sounds like a lot, but we didn't complain about any of this during our stay. Again, we knew we were paying for a cheap room and we only really needed it to sleep and shower. I'm only pointing these things out so that they can be improved for future guests (or even for us, if we decide to stay here again). I really like this place. It's cozy, quiet, and very close to the beach! We even realized that it's LGBT-friendly, which is always a plus for me and my friends. It has a lot of great things going for it and the other more expensive rooms are probably in better shape than our room. Of course, the doggos (and cattos) were the highlights of our stay! 🐶😺

We stayed here for 3 nights. We arrived early and asked the receptionist if they have early check in but sadly, there was no available room. We left our luggage at the property instead and went to Dmall to have lunch. We came back at 2PM and checked in. The room itself is ok. Good thing are our room was at the ground floor so it was very accessible. The beds and sheets were all white, it was a medium sized room with toilet and aircon. There was a long chair in front of the toilet which we used to placed our stuff on. There was also a mini cabinet, TV and lamp that we did not use. They also have bidet and rain shower head which have the options for warm and normal water. They also serve delicious breakfast with good serving. We really loves their beef tapa and daing na bangus. Ate who served us food and the receptionists were also very helpful and approachable. We asked them on how to get around and they answered us politely with a smile. Very close to the back beach (bulabog beach), it was very windy during our stay and there were a lot of kites. Very close to the famous coconut tourist spot as well. However, if you don’t like walking everyday to and from station 2 & Dmall this hotel may not be for you. Nananakit binti namin kakalakad sa shore and then pabalik sa hotel, medyo hassle maglakad pabalik lalo na if pagod kana and tahimik at medyo madilim din ang daanan sa gabi so if matatakutin ka not advisable. But if you’re on a budget and want to experience Boracay and don’t really mind walking or paying for etryke, then this hotel is perfect for you. My overall rating would be: Room: 8/10 Distance to bulabog beach: 10/10 Distance to Dmall & Station 2: 7/10 Breakfast Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Toilet: 5/10 (please clean it with zonrox because the strong scent of urine cannot be removed by simply wiping the toilet off, my mom complained to me a lot about the pungent smell of urine. The smell is stuck in the toilet itself)
