Firstly the positives. The sushi, sashimi, tempura shrimp and siomai are excellent, I joked with my partner that I might just stick to the appetisers unfortunately that's what I should have done because it's all down hill from there. The prime rib was well seasoned but cooked terribly, asked for medium and given rare and bloody in the middle and the cut was 30% uncooked fat. The lechon is dry and just tastes of lemongrass. The Indian section is an insult to India. The only curry available was rendang which is Indonesian haha, it's also located on the opposite side. Everything else were starters or sides. The samosa was stone cold, the "chicken tikka" was just bbq chicken with red food colouring, I think they should of used some spices in the food instead of having mounds of them as decoration. We dined on a Saturday which is apparently seafood night but they must have run out by 6.30pm or it's hidden in the back because it's the same 3 options they have the rest of the week. The crab looked good but was just dry and tasted of sea water. The deserts are the same as every other standard buffet, looks good but tastes of nothing, to the point if you did a blind taste test on everything you'd think it was the same desert, except the chocolate which is just dry and stale. The ice cream is just the standard cheap one just decorated to look home made. The only drinks included is water, black coffee or hot tea. I ended up having a beer due to no spirits available and didn't fancy anything on the cocktail menu. At over 300 pesos I was expecting draft but no just a room temperature bottle of pilsen. My partner ordered a daiquiri which tasted horrific, if you're going to charge 600 pesos at least make it drinkable and use quality ingredients. Ultimately if I'm going to spend 8,718.32 pesos on a meal for 2 I have some expectations. The final insult came a few hours later and the following day when I stank out the apartment with what rushed out of my behind. I travelled to manila just for this after seeing a recent video on YouTube. This is the last time I watch a food vlogger on YouTube. Clearly a paid promotion. I wish I'd gone to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast with my family at Heat, located in the Shangri-La Manila EDSA, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance that set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Especially to Maam Aileen and Maam Angelica.
The breakfast buffet at Heat is nothing short of spectacular. The variety of options available was impressive, catering to every taste and preference. From a wide array of fresh fruits and pastries to an extensive selection of hot dishes, there was something for everyone. I was particularly drawn to the made-to-order omelet station, where the chefs expertly prepared delicious creations tailored to our tastes. The fluffy, flavorful omelets paired perfectly with the crispy bacon and sausages.
The highlight for my family was undoubtedly the interactive cooking stations. Watching the chefs in action as they prepared our meals added a personal touch to the experience. The Asian section was a standout, featuring delectable dishes like congee and dim sum that transported us straight to culinary bliss.
The ambiance of Heat is both elegant and comfortable, making it a perfect spot for families. We loved the spacious seating arrangements that allowed us to relax and enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The attentive staff was always on hand, ensuring our glasses were filled and our needs met without being intrusive.
To top it all off, the desserts were a delightful way to end our breakfast. The selection of pastries and sweet treats was divine, and we found it hard to resist trying a little bit of everything!
Overall, our breakfast at Heat, Shangri-La Manila EDSA, was an unforgettable experience. The combination of exquisite food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a perfect start to our day. We definitely plan to...
