Pau (1), Pau (2), Ron, and I enjoyed an early dinner at this restaurant after catching John Wick 4. It was my first time visiting their Philippine branch, and the excitement was palpable. We were fortunate to be seated without delay as we arrived around 3 pm.
We ordered the following dishes:
Pork Xiao Long Bao - 10 pcs. (₱350) The dumplings' delicate skin was impeccable, featuring their signature 18 folds. The soup and meat inside were flavorful, providing a pleasant warm-up for our taste buds. Don't miss out on dipping it in the accompanying soy sauce and rice vinegar found on each table.
Pork Roasted Garlic Bun - 3 pcs. (₱155) While not exceptional, the buns were a light and enjoyable snack, though the garlic flavor was somewhat muted. Fans of Siopao Bola-bola will likely appreciate this dish.
Spicy Shrimp Wonton (₱250) Despite its "spicy" label, the dish was mild enough even for my low spice tolerance. The shrimp was delectable and fresh. Pro tip: Save the remaining sauce to enhance the flavor of your noodle dishes.
Pork Chop Fried Rice (₱370) According to Ron, the dish was tender but not crispy. He clearly enjoyed it, finishing it off within minutes of being served.
Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup (₱275) Pau (1) considers this his go-to dish when dining here. To add some extra kick, he incorporated the leftover sauce from the Spicy Shrimp Wonton. A classic, filling dish that won't disappoint.
Dry Noodle Shrimp Pork Wonton (₱285) Perfect for those craving more Spicy Shrimp Wonton and a heartier meal. Pau (2) opts for this dish to feel truly satisfied.
Chocolate Xiao Long Bao - 3 pcs. (₱150) The crowning glory of the restaurant, this dish outshone all others I savored during my visit. Crafted with a luscious blend of milk and dark chocolate, the filling oozes with velvety warmth, creating an unforgettable experience.
Brown Sugar Peal Milk (₱155) Comparable to Taiwanese boba milk, but with a slightly creamier texture. It was sweet, and the boba pearls were cooked to perfection.
Our overall experience at the restaurant was exceptional. The staff prioritized cleanliness and customer service, even offering guidance on how to eat xiao long bao for first-timers. We left feeling well-fed and impressed with our...
Read moreWe used to dine here almost every week before and never encountered any issues except today. They were very busy since we visited during peak hour- 11AM. We waited around 5 mins to be seated. The server who assisted us was very kind and friendly.
I understand that everyone was very busy attending to all diners since the restaurant was very full, but I hope their staff can improve on service and be prepared for busy hours like today's lunch time.
1.) We ordered 2 of the same dish- 1 for dine in & 1 for takeout. I reiterated this and reminded the server twice when he was repeating my order. Found out towards the end of the meal that they didn't punch the one for dine-in. Our bad also for not checking the receipt.
2.) They punched the wrong order (salted egg yolk prawns instead of squid) and served it. Good thing they changed it immediately. Our bad again for not checking the receipt. This is because we never encountered any issues when placing orders before.
3.) Asked for chili sauce and server just gave us the container with no serving spoon. When we asked the server for a teaspoon for the chili sauce, she gave us a huge silver serving spoon. Then we asked her again for the correct one, showing her what we'll use it for, but this time she gave us a soup spoon. She didn't even seem happy when we called her the first time, so we just asked another server instead.
4.) Understand that it was busy and since we ordered a lot, our table was very full. A server went to mark our receipt with orders served already, and when she was returning it, she wasn't paying attention and just left it on the edge of the table and it fell. Server just walked away to attend to someone else and my brother had to pick it up.
Server who got our order wrong was very apologetic, which I appreciated. And other servers in charge of refilling waters were all very attentive. Hope they can just improve on...

The crispy beef and truffle fried rice at Din Tai Fung are absolute gems on the menu, each showcasing a unique blend of flavors and textures that will leave your taste buds craving for more. The crispy beef is a delightful dish featuring tender strips of beef coated in a light, crispy batter and tossed in a savory, slightly sweet sauce that strikes the perfect balance of flavors. Every bite is a delightful crunch of satisfaction that pairs beautifully with the tender beef inside.
On the other hand, the truffle fried rice is a luxurious treat that elevates the humble fried rice to a whole new level. The fragrant aroma of truffle permeates through every grain of rice, infusing it with a rich, earthy flavor that is simply irresistible. Each mouthful is a symphony of flavors, with the umami notes of the truffle complementing the perfectly cooked rice and a medley of vegetables and protein.
