The google maps photo of the restaurant's entrance does not do this place justice. Once you've entered it's like you enter a whole nother restaurant! It's big and spacious. It even has an outdoor seating area that's quite lovely.

We enjoyed the lovely decor and overall feeling of neatness, cleanliness and peacefulness. The plants everywhere made me happy, eventhough they weren't all real, they were interspersed with the real plants.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was our first time eating Thai and we had a fussy 7 year old with us, but even she enjoyed what we got for her - dumplings and cheese and sweetcorn spring rolls.

Our own food was also very tasty! We started with various dumplings and a mix of starters. A great way to try a little of everything. Such a good idea! So tasty!

For our mains, I had the Massaman curry with beef and it was alao very tasty. The Green Curry also got many compliments.

All in all I will be...

This is the best Thai restaurant I've had in a long while. The food was authentic and beautifully executed (a suggestion for the pineapple and chicken fried rice would look a lot better if it was served in a hollow pineapple bowl). The sushi was also one of the best in Pretoria , we had the salmon platter and we only had praise for it.

There are, however, some room for improvement in terms of service. The waitress that served us did a great job, but it would be better if there are more people to help with the service and the light above our table keeps turning brighter and dimmer on its own and it does ruin the atmosphere a bit.

With all said and done, I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good authentic Thai food and...

I have been coming to Lotus Thai with my partner and kids for so many years and drama that was performed by the owner today (8 December 2024) was very unnecessary. I am worried how one of the waiters was treated infront of us. I demand that she must apologise to the waiter for treated her like that. She was shouted by the owner of the restaurant: kept on saying she did not order food and very rude even said I will fire you. Honestly this is not how workers should be treated at all. I wonder if any of us can treat Thai people like the way she did in their...

Nicely laid-out restaurant. Had vegetable spring rolls as as a starter. It arrived well presented and came with a sweet and sour sauce, both were excellent! Pity that there was.so little of the sauce served - itbis awesome!Had my favourite Thai dish for the mains -chicken green curry. They used fresh authentic Thai-style herbs: lemongrass, lime leaves, ginger slivers, etc. It should have worked, but it diid not. I have had better in othervrestaurants. Service was below par, waitress was not hospitable and never aaked about my meal experience.

Tastes like authentic Thai food, with well-balanced spicyness. The calming music and stunning decor makes for an enjoyable dining expereince. Nice restaurant for a date. The food was delicious and was enough for me. Do order a starter or desset if you're a big eater. On quieter days, the waiter also helps out at the bar. You might have to stand up to get attention, depending where you're sitting. Make sure to double-check your order, the names of the dishes are in another language but ingredients aren't.
