Alberto and Ernesto have kept this magic corner of Madrid for over 30 years. Last weekend, I visited them and their gorgeous shop, and I stepped back in time to the black and white movie era, Laton toys (got one for my niece), timeless decor, and treasures of the past. Their antiques corner is just gorgeous! I used to be a usual 23 years ago. Stepping back in brought back so many memories. If you are around the Plaza Mayor area in Madrid and you like meaningful, timeless and antiques, drop them a visit!

Un lugar donde parece que el tiempo se detiene y volvemos a ser niños otra vez. Es, posiblemente, la tienda más encantadora de la ciudad, y contemplar su escaparate colorido en Navidad es una delicia. Aquí podemos encontrar muchísimas objetos que nos trasladan a épocas pasadas, y si somos nostálgicos, nos sentiremos como en casa. También cabe destacar lo amables y atentos que son los encargados. Espero que esta tienda siga abierta muchos años, de lo contario Madrid será un poco más gris sin ella.

I was just walking around the beautiful streets of Madrid after 9pm when I unexpectedly saw this magical shop. Everything from it reminds me of a the moment you wake up from a childhood dream and try to keep yourself asleep just for a little bit longer. Wasn’t able to visit it this time, but the beautiful fairy figurines and the little trinket teapots had my attention. Si hay un lugar en Madrid donde pasado y futuro se unen en la más estricta armonía ese sitio es Curiosity Shop. En el barrio de la Latina encontramos esta tienda de regalos y como su nombre indica curiosidades, apta para todas las edades. Desde caleidoscopios, recortables o "cachivaches" hasta los juguetes más futuristas en el mercado.

Desde luego, ésta, en concreto, es la típica tienda de juguetes que, por definición, no es en absoluto típica. Nada de encontrar el último modelo de la muñeca Monster High ni nada que se le parezca, porque casi todo lo que tienen es totalmente diferente a eso.

La magia se respira nada más entrar por la puerta y créeme, es uno de esos sitios en los que te puedes dejar varios sueldos comprando cosillas curiosas (vaya, como su nombre) y que te van a encantar. Así que precaución, amigo comprador y...
