Sol Souvenirs — Local services in Madrid

AVOID!! The store on Calle Mayor opposite Apple Store - worst customer service experience, even for Spain. Standing in line behind other paying customers holding handfuls of souvenirs and the man behind the counter calls to a woman behind us (young, a lot of makeup, not an elderly person or anything like that). We polite say 'excuse me sir we are in the line' and he ignores us to keep wrapping the other lady's items. We then say again 'we were in the line before her or we will go somewhere else'. Again, ignored. We placed all our souvenirs on the counter and said 'ok bye' to which he finally responds 'bye bye'. Appalling. We went around the corner and spent twice as much at a smaller, independent souvenir store. I hope the owner sees this and hires better staff....

On my recent travels to Madrid, when I stopped off at Sol, when I came out, this souvenir shop caught my eye so I decided to have a look, it's just outside the station.

They have many beautiful souvenirs, from magnets to pens, bags, purses, the lot! The prices are very reasonable too. I was surprised. As a result, I bought quite a few things.

The guy who served me was friendly and attentive. The shop was quiet, I was the only one in there.

If you are in the area, I recommend visiting this shop as the prices are affordable and not a rip off. Nice selection of items and plenty to choose from.

Visité varias tiendas de Souvenirs por la zona y esta me sorprendió por la variedad de productos, el buen precio y la magnífica atención y orientación por parte de sus empleados. Aunque es pequeña está muy bien ordenada y surtida. En todo momento me informaron de las ofertas al llevarme varios artículos iguales (los llaveros e imanes que me llevé me salieron más baratos al coger más cantidad) y me ayudaron a seleccionar las tallas correctas para unas camisetas y sudaderas para la familia. También compré una pulsera y unos pendientes para un regalo especial y el dependiente muy amable me mostró muchas posibilidades durante un buen rato hasta que encontré lo que buscaba. Muchas gracias por la paciencia y el tiempo que me dedicó. Además todos los objetos delicados los empacaron cuidadosamente para que no se quebraran en el viaje de vuelta, todo un detalle muy importante. Otros familiares que habían estado en Madrid me habían aconsejado esta tienda y la verdad es que quedé totalmente satisfecho. Seguro que les llegarán viajeros recomendados...
