If you visit keswick be sure to take a walk past cafe hope and see the beautiful sights and scenery of the lake and it's huge colourful mountain scenery, especially when it's a glorious sunny day! Cafe hope does cater for all your needs such as a hot beverage or a cold drink if you desire in the heat of the sun. And don't forget to grab a tasty ice cream from the cabin attached to the cafe and if you need to spend a penny (free wee actually) then the loos are located at the rear of the cafe with more tables and chairs their should you need to rest a little, and yes there is a disabled toilet with changing facilities inside the disabled loo. The gardens are so colourful and beautiful to walk around with plenty of car parking from the lakeside car park that also have a few disabled parking. Read moreAfter a lovely morning walk from Threlkeld to Keswick, we decided to have breakfast in Hope Park cafe where I have eaten many times before. Today, there were 4 of us, and 3 of us decided on pancakes. We opted for bacon and mayple syrup, berries and cream, and a Biscof option. I have to say my bacon and syrup option was delicious and coming in at just under £12 for it, and a pot of tea was good value.
Unfortunately, my friends option of the Biscof version didn't fare as well. Her bottom 2 pancakes were too hard to cut/eat. This was pointed out to a member of staff who said, " You can leave them or I can take them away." Please Hope Park where was the apology or offer to replace 2. This is really not up to the level of fantastic service I am used to here. I hope you've not changed ownership this season. I will return as I'm hoping this was a one-off blip, and I've always previously enjoyed my food here. Better...
Read moreI visited this cafe on 19/8/25 with my parents and 2 small children. Despite town being extremely busy, there was only 2 people in this cafe-which should have been a sign to us that it wasn’t worth going to. There was approx 6 young waitresses standing about chatting - but service was extremely slow. The tea and coffee that took almost 25 minutes to make came out with a waitress with very long blonde hair not tied back-with her hair dipping into the cups on the tray as she carried it. The coffee was scolding hot and once it cooled down - somehow tasted awful. The cakes were all extremely dry and honestly not worth the calories (very rare for me to say that about a cake). I wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back unless I was just going to sit and watch the kids on the mini golf and I would just get something bottled...
