Very disappointing experience.
Spa is quite small and is mostly underground so very dark and claustrophobic.
Cleanliness was lacking. We saw a chocolate bar wrapper on the floor by the upstairs outdoor pool early in the day and it was still there when we left in the evening.
Food was poor. We ordered the. Eat meze, halloumi fries and truffle fries. Didn't take pictures as I don't like to take my phone out of the locker at the spa. Nothing felt special and it felt like they'd opened a pack from the local tesco. The bread was toasted which made dipping it in the oil a challenge.
The music playing throughout the day was the same track on repeat all day and once we noticed it, it was hard not to Un-notice. It briefly stopped during our lunch where we instead could hear the 3 female staff gossiping loadly from behind the bar.
Biggest grievance was lack of seating area. We counted 11 beds to sit on next to the inside thermal pool and that was it. You can only sit in a steam room or sauna for so long and we just wanted somewhere to relax and read a book for a while. We found the "relaxation room" which had 8 beds in it but it was the pre-treatment room so every 5mins someone would come in and shout someones name. Not somewhere you can have a nap.
Found other spa users very discourteous, bringing their phones into the pools to film themselves and even have a phone call.
If you're visiting the spa as a side bonus from staying at the hotel then maybe you'll find more value unit than we did, but for a day visit, I'd rather visit other spas...
Read moreThe spa is lovely, it’s a beautiful building and the facilities were good and varied. We had a relaxing evening and a wonderful treatment. Some of the pools were a little bit on the colder side.
Unfortunately, the service was hit and miss and didn’t feel very special. When we ordered our food we had to fill out a form and it felt like ordering from a school canteen. The service was quite slow too.
We got a sharing platter as part of our package but it did not feel like good value for money at all, it didn’t even include drinks and was a very small and uninspiring platter.
We had a lovely evening and it is a beautiful spa but I wouldn’t rush back. I would look elsewhere first for better value for money and a little more attention to detail to make the experience feel...
Read moreHad such a lovely afternoon at Buxton Crescent with my friend. We had a really relaxing time and our personal highlight was the rooftop pool! The spa was not full and this meant we could have plenty of time and space in each room. Changing rooms were clean and well maintained with secure lockers and nice products to use. My only qualm was that it would have been nice to have spa music in rooms such as the heated lounger room to complete...
