Quite a disappointing interaction with a member of staff today. We frequent the Isle of White often, and usually the chocolate shop is the first stop. We went in with our children today, and whilst I was at the counter deciding on our purchase our kids were sat at the table quietly entertaining themselves with my wife playing with the sugar packets. Without any word an elder gentleman member of staff came to the table and snatched them off my son, my wife commented āobviously we would have put them back before we leftā and he aggressively replied āwell problem solved nowā.
Not only this, after making our purchase we were stood on the pavement outside packing our things away into our pram and he stood in the doorway staring at us as if we were some gang of miscreants about to cause a nuisance. Even the other members of staff were overheard asking him what his problem was. I wish I hadnāt spent any money there to be honest, and certainly wonāt be again.
Can I suggest sir, if you donāt like children in your presence, a chocolate shop probably isnāt the ideal work environment for you? So rude, Iām sorry but we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou have to visit this coffee shop when on Isle of Wight! They offer organic Columbian coffee that is to die for. I tried a latte with Amaretto shot - wish I'd had a second one for journey home!
Incredible value compared to other mainstreams outlets - good price and great quality.
Superb service, a very friendly and comical owner.
Scrumptious chocolate selection - the peanut butter cups are heavenly (unless you have a peanut allergy of course!).
Milk shakes, yes - plenty to choose from. Various infusion teas, for all ov asions and needs eg stress release, relaxation etc.
Cake- coffe & walnut slabs for £3! Great to share but very filling.
All served in a very friendly, relaxing, anything goes atmosphere, dog friendly, kid friendly, clean, immaculate toilet facilities and comfy chairs. Selection of outdoor tables and chairs and amazing interior decor (including the Turkish style lazy cool wavers on the ceiling!)
Very highly recommend a visit here, just across from the hoverport and rail station. You will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe elderly man behind the counter is exceptionally rude. I've encountered him before but thought he was just having an off day, seems not the case. Tried to pay by card but notice said cash only, which it always does. He gave a long lecture about how the government is spying on us, wanting to know who pays by card and that cash is the best option else cash would go out of fashion, so convoluted, and really don't think he's good material for the company tbh. Felt sorry for his staff too, who couldn't speak up, and you could see that just had to go along with what he was saying. I left as didn't like his attitude. Obviously the reason he wants people to pay cash is too avoid him having to pay taxes etc. That's pretty obvious. I noticed some other negative reviews on here regarding the same person. They're are plenty of lovely coffee shops local, why get insulted by a rude individual, when you can...
