Quite a disappointing interaction with a member of staff today. We frequent the Isle of White often, and usually the chocolate shop is the first stop. We went in with our children today, and whilst I was at the counter deciding on our purchase our kids were sat at the table quietly entertaining themselves with my wife playing with the sugar packets. Without any word an elder gentleman member of staff came to the table and snatched them off my son, my wife commented ā€˜obviously we would have put them back before we left’ and he aggressively replied ā€˜well problem solved now’.

Not only this, after making our purchase we were stood on the pavement outside packing our things away into our pram and he stood in the doorway staring at us as if we were some gang of miscreants about to cause a nuisance. Even the other members of staff were overheard asking him what his problem was. I wish I hadn’t spent any money there to be honest, and certainly won’t be again.

Can I suggest sir, if you don’t like children in your presence, a chocolate shop probably isn’t the ideal work environment for you? So rude, I’m sorry but we...

You have to visit this coffee shop when on Isle of Wight! They offer organic Columbian coffee that is to die for. I tried a latte with Amaretto shot - wish I'd had a second one for journey home!

Incredible value compared to other mainstreams outlets - good price and great quality.

Superb service, a very friendly and comical owner.

Scrumptious chocolate selection - the peanut butter cups are heavenly (unless you have a peanut allergy of course!).

Milk shakes, yes - plenty to choose from. Various infusion teas, for all ov asions and needs eg stress release, relaxation etc.

Cake- coffe & walnut slabs for £3! Great to share but very filling.

All served in a very friendly, relaxing, anything goes atmosphere, dog friendly, kid friendly, clean, immaculate toilet facilities and comfy chairs. Selection of outdoor tables and chairs and amazing interior decor (including the Turkish style lazy cool wavers on the ceiling!)

Very highly recommend a visit here, just across from the hoverport and rail station. You will...

The elderly man behind the counter is exceptionally rude. I've encountered him before but thought he was just having an off day, seems not the case. Tried to pay by card but notice said cash only, which it always does. He gave a long lecture about how the government is spying on us, wanting to know who pays by card and that cash is the best option else cash would go out of fashion, so convoluted, and really don't think he's good material for the company tbh. Felt sorry for his staff too, who couldn't speak up, and you could see that just had to go along with what he was saying. I left as didn't like his attitude. Obviously the reason he wants people to pay cash is too avoid him having to pay taxes etc. That's pretty obvious. I noticed some other negative reviews on here regarding the same person. They're are plenty of lovely coffee shops local, why get insulted by a rude individual, when you can...

The family at AtlasAdventured recommends coming here! Amazing place for drinks! The name caught my eye, the inside of the restaurant made me want to stay all day, but the hot chocolate is what stole the show. We ordered a few coffee drinks, which were so delicious, but the kids' hot chocolate was the best. It’s more of a drinking chocolate, thick and rich but not too sweet. It’s in a great location, right on the esplanade and directly across from the bus and train stations. Cute interior and very clean. They have beautiful chocolates for sale and a great selection of baked goods. We only came for the drinks, but next time we’ll get some delicious looking bakes!

A lovely place to go for a drink and something chocolate! The feel inside is quite old-school, which is in keeping with the building it's situated in. There's plenty of seating. The coffee is good, however a hot day isn't the right time to try their hot chocolates! There is a good selection of cake / chocolate slices and the portions are very generous. I'd suggest sharing the chocolate cake items (e.g. brownies) as they're very rich! There is also a good selection of chocolates that can be purchased. If you've yet to give this place a try and you're a fan of chocolate, what are you waiting for?

As long as this shop exists, my pitiful attempts at dieting will continue to be fruitless. You can describe the hot chocolate, of course... but you really have to drink it to understand why people are raving about it. This is no powdered drinking chocolate; it's luxurious, indulgent, and it's quality. While I was there I bought a selection of the chocolates (made on-site) and took them to my office in Geneva. In Switzerland, they know a thing or two about chocolate and they LOVED these. Chocolate Apothecary - endorsed by the Swiss!
