Update: responding to the below response The owner and investors of the business might consider reading some of these reviews (there are so many and so similar). You may make more money by listening to your clients experience than telling them to read your terms and conditions. Anything less than a 4.3 star google rating is a serious concern and on Trustpilot you are rated less than 3 stars. Which is quite frankly embarrassing. Whilst it is normal to have a few unhappy customers the sheer number of them all saying similar things, shows you are doing something very wrong.
I arrived on time for my first ever class at rebel 1 which I had booked a taster session. Despite the fact that the class hadnāt yet begun I was told that I should have arrived 5 minutes early for an induction and I couldnāt take part in the class. I explained that I didnāt know this and have a small baby at home so have specially arrange childcare etc. I asked if maybe one of the team members on the reception desk could run me through the induction quickly so I could still join the class. The manager was quite sassy when he told me no and that ānext time you should read your confirmation emailā.
Considering I was turned away by the reception team on my first ever day I wasnāt really interested in coming back. So I asked for a refund and was again told no. Not even sure if thatās legal but it explains why there are so many negative reviews here.
My warning to new clients is donāt lock yourself into a package as you will not be able to refund if youāre treated poorly by the staff which seems likely since they treated me this way on my first experience at the gym and many of these others reviews have similar experience.
The owner of the business might consider giving some additional training to the Oxford Circus team on how to show empathy and make their customer feel welcome especially on their first time at a new gym. No point spending thousands on marketing to lose...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've recently started reformer pilates and saw 1Rebel now offer classes at their Victoria and Oxford Circus branch. I brought a introduction offer pass and I've now attended both a class at Victoria and Oxford Circus.
The class was terrible, I have attended reformer pilates classes at other venues such as HeartCore & Core Flex Pilates. Comparing the 1Rebel class to these venues.. honestly 1Rebel classes do not even compare.
The trainers spend too much time working on one area to burnout that particular area - for example we spent a good 10 minutes on leg exercises - usually you break it up and do a mixture, you work on one leg core and then move to the other leg so you don't completely burn out.
At the end of both classes they did AMRAP - I signed up for reformer pilates.. not a HIIT class!!
It's also hard to focus on form and breathing when there's loud music blaring out - I understand 1Rebel is supposed to be gym/club format but I don't think it works with reformer pilates.
They also don't let you wear trainers in the studio itself which I understand, but the changing room is far from the studio it seems unhygienic walking around in socks to your class as the floors felt dirty.
There was also about 15-16 beds in both studios, at the Oxford Circus branch they are planning on putting more in? The beds are quite close together you feel packed in like sardines.
Very disappointed as the classes are always sold out so I thought they must be good. Both classes I left feeling like I hadn't even worked out. Usually when I do reformer pilates I leave feeling like I've had a full body workout.. didn't need to shower after either class as I didn't even break out in a sweat!
It's a shame as I was looking to get a membership to do reformer pilates but I won't be going back.. would rather spend more money and go to dedicated reformer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRumble with Lily felt more belittling than empowering. She did not smile even once and only seemed to encourage the people who were doing well and not the people who were struggling. From the beginning, she seemed to be in a bad mood. She was also dismissive in terms of pain, not accommodating at all despite me mentioning an issue a few times, I was simply told that Iāll be fine and so I pushed myself and Iāve further injured myself. She also did NOT show correct form for anyone, did NOT correct anyone who was in bad form which is exactly why Iāve injured myself. It seemed as though she just expected everyone to understand? I specifically wanted to do Rumble as I figured there would be a professional there to teach me correct form, correct techniques etc but she did not tailor the experience to the newbies which is extremely unfortunate as that wouldāve been the perfect opportunity to build relations and loyal customers. She did not offer help AT ALL for anyone that was new despite a few people telling her theyāre new⦠all she said was okay? Also not a nice feeling to have her respond to you right into the mic for everyone to hear, I felt very little in that moment.
Overall I would NOT recommend this to anyone thatās new as this seems to be a class only for people who are advanced in terms of strength, agility, stamina despite this not being noted when booking. If youāre a normal person just trying to get into fitness or trying this class for the first time, I would 100000% recommend going elsewhere, like Barryās. Barryās is inclusive, non judgmental and...
