tl;dr: unpredictable stock availability
People should be aware that all Barbour outlets in London are run by franchisees, and not by Barbour itself. As such, every shop's range, and therefore your shopping experience, will vary from one shop to the other.
That said, the staff whom I encountered in Barbour stores were all helpful and polite.
I have mentioned in my review of the Barbour Regent Street shop that I had to rush to this outlet within 30 mins to try on a Classic Beaufort jacket in size 42, the last piece in the store. They could only hold it for 30 mins!
I decided to purchase another jacket, this time the Beaufort, in sage green. When I called one outlet to check if it was in stock, I was told they couldn't check availability for all other stores, as their (?inventory) systems were different. They also didn't know when items would be back in stock. I managed to buy that jacket at Harrods.
I ordered a gilet, which was then delivered several days later to the Covent Garden outlet. I had earlier called to confirm the item had arrived. When I got to the store, the staff initially could not find it, until I asked her to check again.
If the item you want is available, then shopping at Barbour is easy. Otherwise, be prepared to go across London for it, or wait several days for it to be...

After having asked two of the staff that did not know what advice to give the second store assistant has asked the advice of the third one probably the supervisor who did not even have the decency to come and talk to me although she was standing just in front of me. Instead she wrote on a scrap peace of paper the email and the number of the customer service - which I could have found on the internet.
Unacceptable lack of experience to guide the customers post sales, rude behaviour and entirely inappropriate attitude from the staff, rendering the customer service experience poor and disappointing, especially for a store which is considered a flagship for a world renowned brand in this area of London. A formal complaint is definitely following...
Read moreElla the lady working at the upstairs Women's was very rude and extremely unhelpful to me. I was there looking for a gilet to wear underneath my Beadnell jacket and didn't not see an Olive one anywhere. I went to her and she was very impatient and rude to me when she said they're all transferred back to the warehouse. I went on and asked her if there are any stock online, she was like 'I DON'T KNOW!'. I was genuinely shocked by her attitude towards me and how she refuse to find out about it considering the item is a classic from Barbour she should really know about it! I later went downstairs to talk to another staff and was explained to me in details about the gilet. I genuinely hope Barbour can look into this complaint as it is unacceptable that their customers get treated with such rude and...
