Customers need to wait outside the restaurant to be seated (according to a sign), and the staff are not particularly attentive to this or overly friendly. It starts the experience off on a negative (hence already losing 1 star for me) through poor management, meaning we had to wait at least 5-10 minutes before someone could even advise how long the wait may be. During that initial wait I had gone inside to the toilet and located it myself without asking any staff, during which time my friends had gone inside to approach the staff who were non-attentive to waiting customers, and felt like they received a bad attitude about having approached to ask. The wait wasn't too long after that interaction (maybe another 5+ minutes) and the staff were more friendly and attentive. It was also slightly awkward that the customers who eat outside have to have new customers standing over their tables whilst waiting for a staff member. The whole outside/waiting experience needs improvement. Regarding the actual service, it was mainly very pleasant with knowledgeable staff. There was a strange moment at the end when a different waiter decided to bring us the bill without us asking, and the original staff member was apologetic when we explained why we weren't ready to pay. My friends found their pizza's tasty (hence my higher rating) and one had even returned to the same chain a day later to order the same pizza. I personally wasn't so impressed, and I had ordered -on recommendation- the 8 cheese pizza, only because I hate that pizza restaurants these days often seem to be quite stingy on cheese for a standard pizza. It wasn't a nice combination of cheeses for a pizza in my opinion, and I would never order it again, so instead stick to a more traditional pizza and not overcomplicate the concept of a cheesy pizza. I also didn't like the dips that we ordered for the pizza crusts (garlic&herb was a disappointing taste to me, I much prefer domino's garlic&here dip). Our party of 3 shared 4 starters and had a pizza each (which I only ate the crust of because the 8 cheese pizza wasn't a nice taste to me) yet I still left the restaurant extremely bloated (I only drank water) which isn't something I feel from many pizzas. The staff were happy to provide boxes of customers who wanted to take their leftovers home. In all, I probably wouldn't return to this chain or branch, or at least if I was with people who wanted to I would order just one very basic classic pizza without dips that aren't tasty, and without a starter that fills me up before the...

Finally got to try pizza pilgrims after watching it on tv years ago, and this is the first time we’ve been able to go to London since seeing on tv in order to be able to try one of those chains. We ordered a double pepperoni and spiced honey pizza with a salad and drinks. For the drinks we had a Peach iced tea and a coke and the flavour of the drinks was good. The salad was fresh and flavourful and consisted of rocket Parmesan and balsamic glaze. The pizza itself was hugely disappointing. The flavour of the pepperoni was good but we didn’t notice any flavour From the ‘spiced honey’ at all. The biggest let down was the base of the pizza as it was far too thin as the oil from the cheese and pepperoni made it soggy. The pizza wasn’t cut before sent to table and probably for the reason that when we started to cut it into slices, the middle of the pizza started to dissolve as there was no structure to the dough. This was probably because the dough had been spread too thin and because of all the moisture from the oil made the pizza soggy. The crust was the only redeemable part as it’s was the only part that has any sort of structure. The only way we could eat it was to turn it into a rolled up slice otherwise all of the toppings would just slide off. To give you a comparison the thickness and texture of the pizza base was similar to that of a crepe.

Ultimately it was edible and filled a small gap in our stomachs. However wouldn’t go back when there are so many better options for pizza.

The moral of the story is to not have such high expectations, but to always remember that everyone’s experience is different. My experience was bad but hopefully others won’t be. However based on mine I won’t be going back, as I can honestly say it’s in my top 10...

It's definitely the worst experience and situation I've had in London, I work in the kitchen in the region and I've been there several times and the pizza is delicious. However, one day off I took my wife to eat there, I was greeted at the door by an Italian waitress who immediately said it was crowded and there were no tables, she said ok I'll wait for delivery at the only table that was outside. I went in and went to the bathroom, which was only allowed to those who were eating in the restaurant (I ignored the warning). To my surprise, the lower floor was full of empty tables, I used the bathroom and came back, I was already waiting for my pizza for more than 20 minutes, interesting that I have the video from the day of the empty floor and I had already ordered the pizza through the website that advised me about the weather. I went to the waitress to collect my pizza and told her in a polite way, you probably see it on CCTV, but to my displeasure, she extremely stupidly changed her voice and said that it was busy that she was doing her best and that if she didn't want to, she would return my order. money, his lack of control was clear and the worst was yet to come, he threw me out and I continued the gratuitous insult, as if I were the victim. Until another waitress came, I believe it was the manager, and explained the case, and she immediately went to get my pizza, which was already waiting on the counter, ready. Extremely embarrassed, I left, I couldn't eat the pizza because of such anger, shame and absurdly unhappy since I work in hospitality and know the importance of good service. Even though the pizza is great, I don't plan on ever...

Edit: I have been twice more and the customer service by the women with the piercings is terrible! I have no idea what her issue is but she is very rude and blunt in the way she talks. Looks moody to serve you. A customer facing environment is not for everybody. And it has been her both times! Last visit, we ordered and the two tables that were sitting on either side of us got their food before us, despite us ordering 10 mins before them, both were only a table of 2 like us. I asked for the service charge to be removed and a different server thought it would be appropriate to ask in the middle of the restaurant, why? after speaking to their manager about getting it removed. So unprofessional. It clearly says on the receipt how to provide feedback and the service charge is “optional” you are not inclined to it when you offer trash service thank you very much! I was happy to explain exactly why I wanted the optional service charge removed from my bill in the middle of the restaurant as I am now happy to offer my explanation online! Will never eat at pizza pilgrims at Covent garden again! 1st review The best pizza I’ve ever had! So superior that it’s set the bar so high that nothing else compares now! Lovely designed and decorated place. The Italian cider was nothing to write home about. I opted for the “margarita extra extra”. Price ~£22 which included a service charge. Edit; went again and tried the “hot honey and pepperoni” which was sublime. Added image. A hint of honey and not overly sweet.
