London City Bus Tours — Local services in London

We used Big Bus Tours and were disappointed by the website that was impossible to make an online ticket purchase, no live agents to problem solve with, arrived at the bus stop to purchase there and were assaulted by a barrage of 'representatives' armed with hand held machines from competing bus lines wanting our business. The drivers were all helpful and amazing, but this did not make up for a trip that was supposed to be 3 1/2 hours lasting 6!!! A horrible service that takes advantage of the fact that tourists are just people to be exploited and with little concern for providing a quality product...gone are the days of a cornball but fun and well informed tour guide to tell us about this amazing city, replaced by tedious audio recordings and headphones alienating people from each other (except to commiserate together about the crappy experience)...the three stars are all for the drivers, pay them...

Took the vintage bus Christmas lights tour last night from Victoria bus station, sadly the weather wasn't on our side and it rained for about 30 mins of the tour but we thoroughly enjoyed it, being on this fantastic bus from our childhood and the fact its open top meant we were so close to the lights it was amazing. The commentary was really good but we did need a speaker at the front of the bus as at times it was a little quiet. Mike and Steve did a grand job making sure we saw everything and were so helpful. Now here are the facts, it's an open top bus, you are in England and sometimes it rains so don't moan just wear something appropriate and have a fantastic time on a bit of old London heritage while enjoying the beauty of Londons...

We booked the Christmas lights tour on 3rd December..... From the moment we booked the tour we knew we were in safe hands. Mark, who organised the booking for us was in contact pre-tour to make sure everything was going well. On the day, I couldn't find the bus stop (My fault not reading the map correctly) and Mark was able to get me in the right direction. The staff at the stop, and on the bus were amazing. Very helpful, got us all organised an on our way! During the tour the commentary was brilliant. Very informative and fun for all ages.

This is a great way to spend some time in London, you get to see some amazing sights and it is great value for money. Thank you everyone ... we will be...
