For long time I haven’t had so bad experience. Staff and service were rude. The waiter was like he didn’t bother at all and did mistake on order, the girl who brought a coffee ignored the problem with a coffee (it was 1 oat milk latte, and 1 normal milk latte- my friend was busy on the phone with her job and I couldnt ask her what exactly her ordered, but I mentioned it to a waiter but she just left coffee on the table and left). And the worst was the manager. When we were still sitting at the table he approached with a card terminal and showed us that we need to leave as we are there for almost 90 minutes. I was shocked.. no apologies, no notice on the arrival, it was never mentioned that you have only 90 minutes to eat. Food - very average, very big slice of toast, good amount of eggs and some salmon on the side for £16.90. Coffee with oat milk wasn’t creamy, and when food arrived it was already cold. The bill(!) - as it was in hurry (because 90 minutes was gone) I haven’t checked the receipt and automatically paid by card £52.31. Now I checked the menu online and I don’t know what I paid for so much. We had Green eggs - £16.90, OZDEMIR PASHA -£15.90, two lattes with oat milk £3.40+£0.50. So it would be £16.90+£15.90+£3.40x2+£0.50x2 =£40.60+12.5%=£45.68. Total charge was £52.31. 52.31-45.69=6.62.. what else was included in our bill? Tap water for £6.62?
❌Be aware and check your bill!!
Unfortunately, I haven’t saved the receipt, only...
Read moreMe and my partner visited on Saturday the 10th Feb for breakfast/lunch. There was abit of a queue which was fine, and the guy who seated us was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we were served by a very rude waitress with dark hair. There was 2 women on shift, one with short blonde hair who was super lovely and friendly, and the other one had long brown hair with an accent (I'm not sure what accent). Unfortunately the bad service from the long haired waitress ruined our experience. She seemed insulted when we were asking questions about the menu, she just answered questions rather rudely. When we asked to swap something she in an annoyed tone told us that she would charge us the same and we wouldn't get any money off - which is fine, we didn't expect a discount.. but her tone the whole time was very off. She forgot our water twice, and the service was very slow so someone else had to jump on and help in our area. When we asked the blonde waitress for water and for the bill she was kind, smiley and welcoming.
Unfortunately because of this, we won't be returning which is a shame. Looking at previous reviews I can see that I'm not the only person who had this experience. I would highly recommend that the team leader picks this up and acts on it, as based on the recent reviews, she seems to be offering the same abrupt service across all...
Read moreThe food and coffee is very good - I can't fault it. The service for me today was poor. I dealt with a very entitled waitress who begrudgedly allowed me to sit on a larger table (I explained it was for a business meeting), was quite abrupt in asking me to stand to the side while she prepared it, then proceeded to ignore me for the next 15 minutes. I attempted to catch her attention as she was cleaning a nearby table only to be faced by a raised hand, in a waiting sign. Later, she continued to clean tables and welcomed other people without paying me any attention. At this point I had been sat 25 minutes. I called her again and reminded her with more urgency I had been waiting. She pulled an outraged face as if I had overstepped the mark. Then I watched her as she went to complain to her manager with wide gestures in plain view of the whole room. He then comes over to finally take the order and, while I let him know that I was left waiting a long time, expecting some sort of apology, he disappointingly says 'Oh yes she told me you have been rude to her'. I think the concept of treating customers as "customers" and service with a smile is entirely lost on the Black Penny South Bank branch. As I was leaving, I said goodbye and thank you to the waitress, she just stared...
